    Everyone else besides Vogel would be excellent

    This is a fine list. Don’t want Vogel at all but all the other options are fine. Nurse, Williams, and MDA are my top three choices IMO.

    I’m afraid they hire Monty and he’s the same thing. Team was awfully unprepared in back to back Game 7s with stacked rosters

    Nurse, Cassell and Vogel are my top three imo. I just don’t trust Monty to be much different from Glenn.

    If we hire Bud it’s mega over. Monty would be cool but then I remembered he’s the only coach Bud outplayed in a series. Cassell tho hmmmm

    imagine we hire someone who actually runs plays other than “joel iso and everyone else stand around”, I think i’d cry

    Now we wait and see on what Harden does, because that’s going to be a huge factor in the hire.

    End of the day, it still comes down to personnel. We desperately need bigger wings that can create some of their own shots while being fast enough to keep in front of their man. We need the team to be so much tougher and focused. A coach can only get so much of that to the surface. It has to already be in there to begin with.

    1. Sam Cassell

    2. Nick Nurse

    3. Monty Williams

    4. Frank Vogel

    5. Mike Budenholzer

    6. Mike D’Antoni

    I don’t want D’Antoni or Bud, would be fine with any of the others but seems promoting Cassell would be one of the better moves. Otherwise think I’d prefer Nick Nurse for any of the outside hire options.

    Another former championship winning coach. I sure that’ll go well this time.

    How this city never learns. Our only two championships in the last 40 years came with Doug Pederson and Charlie Manuel. Two under the radar types no one wanted.

    The John Tortorella, Joe Girardi, Doc Rivers, Alain Vingeault hires never work.

    Find the next great coach. Not a retread who has a ring from a once in a lifetime perfect situation.

    I think Nurse is at the top of my list, but I’m willing to give Cassell a chance too. Vogel and Bud are definitely lowest, but that’s a pretty solid list.

    Those who still basically believe in Morey as a decisionmaker (and I lean in that direction, though I know many don’t) have been saying for years that he didn’t get to pick his coach for this team. Well, now he will, and he’s got a very strong slate of candidates here (and probably some more who aren’t mentioned if he wants to go in a different direction), so this will be a test of Morey’s acumen in putting the pieces together to help us bounce back from years of stallouts and shameful defeats in the playoffs. I more or less like every name on this list, though I’m most skeptical of Bud and Vogel despite their recent championships… but we’ll see. I am so curious to see who they ultimately go with.
