Smart man. That franchise is a dumpster fire since harden and Morey left.

  2. browndude10

we had actually told him we were going to send him to space

  3. holy shit that’s brutal, he has no reason to be happy other than truly believing they’re a shit organization that would hurt his chances of being successful. Like they’re a pretty big market with historical success of building around an elite center

The way he looked over to his people you could tell they had a pre-lottery convo of “anyone but the rockets” lmao

  4. FallenLemur

Houston Rockets have recently put out a statement: “ight, fuck you den”

  5. bravof1ve

They are poorly run. Bad owner in Fertita, coach with weird PR baggage, and they’ve been linked to some puzzling FA targets like Khris Middleton that seem very short sighted.

When I was an undergrad, circa 1994-1997, I was a pretty big Spurs fan and alot of my college buddies were from Houston. I bought nosebleed tickets waaaaaay up in the Alamodome to see Hakeem smoke David Robinson and I was distraught. My buddies from Houston mercilessly clowned me. For that, and other reasons, I revel in the Rocket’s pain.

Also, dude played for Tony’s franchise last year, Boris Diaw is the president of his latest team, Pop is the GOAT and known for putting foreign born centers (Nesterovic, Oberto, Splitter, Poeltl) AND elite bigs (Duncan, Robinson) in positions to succeed. Of course San Antonio is his first choice of the possible landing spots.

  7. Carcrusher3

I think this dude really wanted to go to the Spurs. That’s probably why everyone announced after made him super happy.

  8. nothalaman

Didn’t want to play with the 2 ball hogs there. Love Green but I wouldn’t want him as a teammate

  9. No_failure_in_sports

Haha nobody wants to play for a perv

  10. coyote_snap

first it was mobley. then jabari smith was rumored not to want to go to us. now wemby… something stinks around here

  11. VeniceRapture

    Damn. Title wasn’t exaggerating lol

  12. New_Essay_4869

I wouldnt want to join a team where your pg and sg for the future are KPJ and Green

  13. Ifinishfast42

Didn’t want to be on a team of chuckers. I get it. Look at sengun get like 5 touches a game on offense because jalen, KPJ, and Jabari are always gonna be sending a free rebound to the defense. Now if they add amen or asur that team is gonna shoot a 30% combined fg%

  14. logontoreddit

As a Rockets fan I can’t really blame him. Portland or the most obvious San Antonio are far better landing spots. Much better spots compared to Houston, Charlotte or even Detroit.

  15. forkliftgod

He probably wants the ball in his hands. That’s gonna happen significantly less in Houston. A lot of young mouths to feed on the Rockets.

  16. WhenItsHalfPastFive

The Rockets new owner is one of the most despicable people involved in the NBA, just an absolute horrible personality all around. So yea this isn’t surprising.

  17. Delicious_Fee574

Houston is a mess I would be happy too

  18. No_Nefariousness6385

Wemby so powerful of a prospect that he told Silver wich team he wanted to go and they made the ping pong balls obbey him

  19. tonypearcern

Damn, I guess he already knows about Fertitta

  20. medical_cat

When is it gonna end. I can’t do this anymore

  21. medspace

I’m sorry am I supposed to believe that having a potentially 25+ ppg guard, a promising forward and center, a coach that just led a team to the finals, 60M in cap space and a fuck ton of picks is a bad place.

I mean Jesus everyone acts like we are some poverty franchise. Before our tank we made the playoffs 8 times in a row. Obviously we’ve been like shit the past few years cause we’re tanking and have a had a pretty poor coach.

  22. slamboyguy

As a European who is only started watching NBA recently, will the Spurs try to sign/trade good players to build around Wembanyama to try and get a playoff spot or will the Spurs be an average team next year?

  23. ElectricSpanish

Too many people over-thinking his reaction. SA is a very popular team in France. He grew up watching Tony. Boris is president of his current club. They sold him on the Spurs organization a long time ago. He wanted to go there, no disrespect to any other franchises.

  24. bloodmuffins793

I mean, would you want to play on a team where Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. are never going to pass you the ball?

  25. crackhousebob

I didn’t care who got 1st pick as long as it wasn’t Houston. Harden is rumored to return to the Rockets so imagine having him as a mentor for Wemby. Kid would be getting a tour of all the strip clubs and nightclubs.

Wemby wanted to follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman Tony Parker and play for Pop.

  26. RewardStory

French connections with the Spurs. He wanted to be a Spur

  27. BurzyGuerrero

Not gonna lie. If Wemby or any other generational FRP did that to the Raptors the fanbase would never recover.
