Have yet to see a trade Dame argument that isn’t clearly rooted in deep Blazer fan self-hatred.
No team, or player, has a god-given right to a ring. And yeah, we need extra luck and work for it to happen in this small a market. That was always the case, even before the tank years, and will continue to be the case after Dame leaves/retires. As such, blowing it all up doesn’t strike me as the magic bullet it seems to be portrayed as.
For me, there is much more to sports than cutthroat resource optimization. There is even much more to sports than ring-chasing. Even if you disagree, I maintain that you would live to regret trading Dame when we find ourselves as the new Kings (in a bad way).
