Oh well…he’s just gonna have to suck it up and adjust.

I was also shocked, but with Embiid’s performance in the playoff, especially game 7 where Tobias Harris had more pts than him.

Shocked does not mean mad

In the postgame interview following game 7 loss, he praised Doc’s coaching in that series and for the season

If he’s shocked that Doc would be fired after a collapse like this, then Embiid isn’t a serious person. I mean, c’mon
The Hawks series was bad enough, but losing like this in a game 7?
the shock should’ve been if Doc was still the coach next season

Going by his game 7 interview, there’s no way he was ‘shocked’.

Steph was upset about Mark Jackson. Giannis was upset about Jason Kidd.

What planet is he living on?

Shocked doesn’t mean sad, and being close doesn’t mean outrage. Embiid can be hypothetically sad all he wants but it’s evident that Doc wasn’t it. Hopefully the next person we have is

Well it’s his fault he got fired – unless he was fighting through injury (which seemed likely), he gave up in a game 7

People say nice things in public when their friends get fired. It’s the kind thing to do.

Maybe Joel should have played better.

Mike Levin made a good point on their pod tonight. What does Embiid actually want in a team? It kind of seems like he just befriends people and then gets upset when they get traded/released/fired, etc. (My words, not Mike’s). Like does Joel have a preference as to what he thinks will work? Or does he just kinda show up and play? I get the impression it’s the ladder.

We need a coach that can finally unlock Joel’s inner warrior, if he has one. Maybe this will be a wake up call for him, but I’m not optimistic.
