  1. I don’t think Spurs have ever been bandwagoned. Closest thing I can think of is Lebron/Heat haters cheering us on in 2013 and 2014

  2. AgentEndive

There was already someone in this sub saying they are a new bandwagoner. Smfh

  3. ____phobe

So many Lakers and Warriors fans today are going to be Spurs fans in a few years lol

  4. nyrcupchamps

I haven’t been on the Reddit much, but I’ve been watching since the very early 2000s.

  5. Cash1m0ney

We haven’t exactly had a bunch of painful years as a fanbase so I’m not too salty about the new additions. We’ll always have the love of Timmy that they’ll never be able to experience.

Big tent boys, big tent. Was it bandwagoning when people started watching when Duncan was drafted? Who knows how many “bandwagoners” have been watching the spurs since the 90’s to hate on “bandwagoners” now. Let Wemby bring in more fans, who knows, some might stick around.

The French are welcome! Paris, Texas isn’t too far!

  8. Thunderhorse74

I’ve already seen a ton of unfamiliar posters on here. Likely mostly Spurs fans that don’t reddit or lurk the sub, but probably a few bandwagoners in there.

To be fair, all Frenchy bandwagoners are welcome, though yall should have been here for Tony and Boris (and King Joffrey!). Just bring bread and cheese when you come.

I’m unapologetically a bandwagon, I was gonna support Wemby wherever he went because he’s my favorite player and this was quite literally the best place possible for him. I’m full on behind the Spurs!!! (Unless they’re playing the Thunder they’ll always be the team that has my heart)

And? The only time they become a problem is when they claim they’ve been fans since forever. I’ve got friends who have been turned off watching games for 2-3 years but have been invigorated by Wemby’s anticipated arrival. I know fans who have supported the team through thick and thin, and kudos to them, they keep the franchise in SA.

However basketball is entertainment and if losing constantly isn’t someone’s thing and they get miserable over it it’s healthy to stop watching.

    New Spurs fans, welcome!

Let them come. It’s about damn time we got some national attention again. I want the haters back too. We deserve to be on all the podcasts again.

I don’t have a problem with bandwagoners, it’s part of sports. What I do have a problem with is all these “spurs fans” that are conveniently coming out of their hole to support the team again after a few years of being bad.

  13. el_corso

I always find it hilarious when Bandwagoners want to tell us what’s wrong with our team. I mean, if you weren’t around through our ups and downs I don’t want to hear it.

  14. Tob0gganMD

Guilty. But to be fair, the Spurs have been my second team since I was a kid and Ginobili was my favorite player.

  15. ILuvThighs

I’m a bandwagoner because Tre Jones, Keldon, and Collins all helped me in fantasy and are now some of my favourite players 😎

  16. Open arms, never got the hate against bandwagoners. Some stay, most leave, but who cares. I’m just happy to be in a position to get bandwagons for the first time in a while.

  17. moe_wemby

🤷‍♂️ I’m French, and Victor is my favourite player. Been following him for years.

Call me a bandwagoner if you want, that’s ok, but I’m all in. Go Spurs!

  18. keldpxowjwsn

Spurs have literally never had a bandwagon lol theyre the most neutral to disliked team in the league. If someones cheering for them they like them

  19. dievert

What’s wrong with new fans? I’ve been a fan before Duncan was drafted and grew up nearby San Anton’. New fans means more money and exposure to basketball played right and a coach whose philosophy transcends basketball because basketball doesn’t really matter, his words. If anything the Spurs organization can positively influence more young people to grow up to be a good person. The Spurs influenced me in such a way and I’m grateful for the success and the gracefulness, humility, honesty in which they achieved it. Not saying they are perfect or holier than thou, but the bigger the outreach the better, because of the quality of role models.

I welcome anyone to be a spurs fan. But just so they know, I’ve been watching every game for the last 4 years so I’m the realist
