I remember not long ago at the end of the regular season, Nuggets were losing consecutive games. They were trashed in the media, and their own fans wanted Malone fired. Jokic was still putting up MVP numbers but people were convinced Embiid should have been the one.
These awards should be handed out in the off season because there is a fuller picture.

The best moment of this season was the look AD gave Jokic after Jokic hit a 3 right over him. That grin of total disbelief. Hands down. I’ve never seen a player look that openly amazed by his competition.
LA came back bc they figured 2 things out.
They went at Jamal every single time on O, esp iso Bron on him in post
and also assigned AD to Gordon on D…which lets Davis roam and play help on defense.
Be interesting to see how Denver counters.
Its beautiful watching Jamal and Jokic play together. I really want Den/Miami finals but you know NBA has the Laker/Celtics agenda. I hate it!!! Let these kids play. Done with rerunning old stories. I think for next games Gordon should be guarding Lebron. Jamal can’t guard Lebron all 6 games and Lebron will power thru it.

The referees helped the Lakers big time in the 4th quarter with all them free throws. Still didn’t help! Jokic was magnificent, I don’t even know why some people dare saying AD was impactful🙄
It was a beautiful game by Denver. I’m a huge Raptor fan but it’s quite amazing watching Jokic & Jamal and the whole team play real basketball. Denver deserves to be in the Finals.

Nuggets had an answer for every run that LA made. This game showed that Jokic was robbed of his MVP award. I hope he wins the finals MVP.
So many people doubting the Nuggets as contenders. This is a different team from those of the past. They healthy..ish and are playing excellent offensive basketball. Defensively, the Nuggets struggled and allowed Lakers to make a game of it. It visibly pissed off coach Malone. I expect him to bitch slap some defensive awareness in his team before the next game. In any case, I can't wait to see what Jokic does in the rest of the series. He is a stat filling machine. He did all that while doing everything he could to keep his teammates involves and opportunities to eat. Go Denver!!!
Sports commentators are talking about the Lakers disadvantage playing at altitude. Just imagine how much energy/wind that Denver will have in LA playing at a lower altitude. I honestly don't expect much out of LA for this series. Even off of makes, the Nuggets (especially Jokic) is pushing the ball hard up the floor allowing them more time to run their schemes and generate good shots while allowing their players to position themselves to get the rebound. It was such a beautiful and fun game to watch.
Star power and referee bias only gets teams a certain distance. I loved that nugget team (besides my raptors) for a few years now. I couldn't wait for Murray to come back. Last time I loved Denver was when Melo was there.

I think Jokic showed he has it. With L. James and Co. gunning for you is no easy nerve-check. And Jokic dropped a triple-double? Wow. But he NEEDS to win one championship, at least, to get that 3rd MVP, but it's not like Jokic's game is a fluke. It's solid gold out there. I don't think the Lakers have enough, but that said, Denver NEEDED the first one.
