Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if we’d gone after this guy instead of Kawhi.

We’ve gotten plenty of stars, let’s not get greedy

Plus Jimmy is already an honorary laker for stomping on the leprechauns

himmy butler cleared the east for us in 2020 i aint even mad

  3. quwin123

Not sure he had interest in signing with us. But it basically would’ve been Butler instead of Green and KCP.

Obviously a strong favorite to win in 2020.

Then no Schroder 2020 trade, and obviously no Westbrook 2021 trade.

Maybe one extra title? But it’s so hard to say for sure.

Yeah and if I remember it right, Butler was waiting for the Kawhi fall out too, but in the end decided not to wait and signed with the Heat. Lakers would have got him if they didn’t wait for Kawhi back then and went with Butler instead.

We can’t have them all, but much respect to Butler as a competitor. This is probably how a lot of teams felt about Kobe… multiplied by 10.

He said no to kawhi that summer he was dead set on the heat

Durant, kawhi and us all tried to recruit him

Jimmy wanted the Heat & he wanted to be the Man.

Jimmy is the man. I hope this dude kills this fraud Celtics contender narrative.

Jimmy is the type of guy you need alongside AD to keep pushing him to go hard. Would be an insane duo if Bron left after next year.

  9. Idk if jimmy and bron together would be as good. Jimmy with AD w jimmy being the alpha would be sick post Lebron

  10. MrPino777

The spacing would’ve been as bad as it was with Westbrick and we probably would’ve been in a similar situtation

  11. bossaboom

I remember Jimmy tweeting about his desire to play with LBJ and AD

I’m happy to watch Himmy Buckets with the Heat. I feel like this ramshackle team of cast offs is what he needs to really thrive. Butler is a beast when he’s down and out. I don’t think he’d have the same legacy if he had come to LA. This man absolutely FEEDS on adversity

It pains me we have to beat this guy to win a ring. He’s one of the few non lakers that I genuinely want to win a ring at least once, he deserves it

Wanna know something even crazier? We used our 2nd overall pick to select Lonzo. Jayson Tatum was the 3rd pick that same year.

  15. There is no what if. We live in this timeline and whatever we did won us a championship. Enjoy the moment bro.

  16. DM_ME_UR_SOUL

Don’t think he’d like the lakers with our shenanigans

  17. TChambers1011

The lakers tried to go after kawhi? Where tf was i???

  18. Jugg3rnaut85

I thought this was the Clippers sub on my feed, for a sec.

  19. IamProfessorO

Engagement posts like this are a little annoying lol. Hypotheticals that have nothing to do with the lakers

  20. Substantial-Whole237

Thought Butler said he didnt wanna join as he’d rather face LBJ

  21. -Lights0ut-

3 titles and we’d be working on 4 right now

  22. TheLoneliestMonke

Knowing what we know now, we wouldn’t win a chip since Jeanie isn’t willing to go too deep into the luxury tax. Give me 2 superstars and depth > 3 superstars and no depth

  23. Lazy-Clue-3476

Come on guys. Settle for what we have. We THERE!

  24. donotfretcitizen

I was thinking the same thing. People argued bad fit back then but Butler is too competitive not to make it work with LeBron of all people.

  25. CraigOfWar

Guy is unreal in the playoffs. One of a few that actually deserving of the Playoffs Nickname.

  26. Blue_Nyx07

no one saw Jimmy becoming a Kawhi type player without the load management. He was already good prior to the bubble but he got insanely great during and after the bubble. People were clowning the Heat for signing him a three year max contract, boy that aged like milk.
