The lottery is over. The Utah Jazz held at #9. The Spurs were the winners and for one last and final day we can debate should the Utah Jazz have really tanked this season and would it have been worth while? When could have the Jazz pulled the rip cord and how far could they have fallen. If they did would it have been worth while?
David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, watched Cason Wallace and Anthony Black go head to head as Kentucky played Arkansas and then watched Anthony Black play Baylor. One of the two players stood out to Locke.
The Miami Heat won Game 1 but it is not sustainable and the narrative for the next two days will miss the point.

what good does this do to ask this question now? 🙂
Not worth it
Should have gone the Portland route. There were 3 or 4 games that were won in the final minute that if flipped would have put us with the same record as Portland. Sure, those clutch wins were valuable experience, but in the grand scheme, probably not as important as a better draft position.
100% should’ve tanked. Got the supporting cast lauri top 20 2nd option, Kessler ma6be top 30-50 node day, agabji good fit etc. We will never be a contender without a top 5 or top 10 guy which whilst you can find them anywhere in the draft the chance of doing so is so much higher with early picks, and when wemby is there you give yourself the best chance
Black has the mechanics to develop a 3, that's why it doesn't worry me. He can get to the rim and finish at will and in the NBA where space is better, he'll be even better
@Locke You have been saying smaller guards are getting phased out.. In that case why would our FO draft a guard who basically just got measured at 6'-2" at the combine? I would be disappointed if Ainge drafted Wallace with the 9th pick.
Wallace or Black, I think it depends on what JC and THT do. They both have an upside and think will do well in the nba.
I think Wallace is more ready to play minute's right away.
Good morning fellow Jazz fans! Despite what the sports media tried to make everyone believe last year, the intent of the Jazz front office was never to tank. We got a bunch of young players that had never really been given a chance to play and show what they could do. What message would you be sending to them by tanking. The purpose of last season was to start a rebuild. Find out what the players you have can do and where your weak spots are. I agree with all the trades they made but the biggest mistake they made was to not trade JC. I love JC as a sixth man but not a starter. He played well enough to get good trade value for him at the deadline. Now he will more than likely opt out and become a free agent. The amount he will bring in free agency will be more than the Jazz should pay to a 33 year old player on a team that is building towards a championship. Not tanking was a good thing. Now let’s see what kind of magic Danny can work this summer. This is at least a three year process and I am excited to see what year two brings! Go Jazz!!
