Lol, Mitch said consideration y'all. He's just trying to throw other GM's for a loop. Mitch knows Scoot is the choice. He's been great in the draft and I don't see that changing. Except for maybe Bouknight. But guess what.. Bouknight was a highly touted prospect by everyone and has screwed himself so far.
This was just smoke & mirrors 🪞by Mitch. I hope and believe it was to get some of the less experienced GMs to waste time.
Later in the video, Mitch is asked does he think San Antonio will listen to trade offers for the #1 pick? Mitch said "yeah I'd answer the phone if it was me because that's my job, but I don't know if I would be listening very hard".
So I think he's 'considering' because that's his job

I don't think he said "we're going to draft a wing because we need a wing". What he DID say is IF he views both Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller of a similar talent level, then you go with the better fit. Not like he's choosing Leaky Black over Scoot.
The most important thing to consider is this: to win in the playoffs you need a #1 scoring option, with another All-Star, another fringe All-Star, with a couple of role players (primary defender/low offensive usage guys) in the starting lineup, and a deep bench.
Scoot is way more likely to become a #1 scoring option on a playoff team than Brandon Miller. We have to take the chance of raising our ceiling like that – it would be such a wasted opportunity if we didn't. If LaMelo is our #1 scoring option going forward, we're in trouble. Love him, but that's just not going to be who he is in the league. Think about this, in 3 seasons so far, he doesn't have a 40 pt game yet. Not knocking him (obviously he has a ton of triple-doubles) – just saying, if he doesn't have to shoulder the heaviest scoring load on offense, I think that actually makes him *better*.
Imagine this lineup in 2-3 years when Scoot is averaging 24 pts, 5 rebounds, 6 assists:
–LaMelo
–Scoot
–Bridges
–PJ
–M. Williams
Bench:
–Terry
–DSJ
–Cody
–McGowans
–Richards
And that's not even counting any moves made with the money freed up by Gordon leaving after next year. If Cliff can turn these guys into a league average defense, that is definitely a winning playoff roster. Not necessarily a Finals-caliber roster, but it would be super fun, which all we can ask for at this point!
I don't think it's a big deal.. Not everyone thinks Scoot should be the pick.

I just ask y’all to look actually into the Brandon Miller before assuming he’s looped in with the problems of Miles. A lot more to that story that shows Brandon’s minimal involvement in everything that happened.

I heard Miller is kinda like Ja Moron, hell tell you all the sweet things your ear wants to hear but still go off and act the fool later.
Scoot has zero visible character issues.
We already suffered Bouknight character flaws: physically attacking the coach for not playing him at just 4 months into his NBA debut. He had gun and alcohol issues too.
Then the Miles Bridges Lean addiction and domestic violence issue flared up.
Miller is in the same mold as these two guys. A #2 pick isn't worth that headache.
