ESPN/ABC NBA sideline reporter Lisa Salters admits she has never seen Jokic play or watched a Nuggets game in 10 years

The host, Suzy Shuster, also mispronounces Jokic. Really demonstrates the utter lack of care or interest in Jokic or the Nuggets by the vast majority of mainstream NBA media personalities

After the Nuggets obliterate the Lakers, they’ll know…

This is just sad for everyone involved in this interview. Sad for the host sad for the reporter sad for Jokic and sad for the Nuggets. At least she was honest.

So she never watches basketball games?

  4. _cosmix1

I’m not gonna hate cus Lisa does say good things, it just illustrates what people been sayin. The Nuggets didn’t much respect before cus people were not watchin.

The mispronunciation by the host is egregious tho like you watched the game you heard people say his name!

“All WE gotta do is get him going… perhaps WE’LL have better success…”
    Bias much Lisa?

I’m more interested in how Salters got this elite job if she isn’t even interested in basketball/the NBA.

I put this up in r/NBA and that horde apparently doesn’t see it as unprofessional as we do.

  8. We already knew ESPN has many people who don’t watch basketball . All they do is perhaps watch highlights of teams they want to talk about if even that. Just worthless listening to them

  9. NBA has the most blatantly biased coverage of any major sport its wild how they don’t even try to hide it

This is just sad lmao, but props to her for being honest about it

If u ever think you’re unqualified for ur job…..

How do you get this job if you don’t even watch the teams that play?

  13. I wonder if this is true. You’d have to go back and check all the national TV games, but it seems unlikely.

To me, the stone cold look on the host ladies face says

“Why are you trying to actively tank both our reputations by admitting you’ve never watched a 2x MVP?… shut up!!”

Win the title and we’ll get respect. Simple as that. Milwaukee gets coverage nowadays because they won a title. We gotta do the same

Wow, so espn reporters so far have admitted that they:

    1. Don’t watch nuggets games
    2. ‘forgot’ to put Jokic on the mvp ballot

How do you even get these jobs?? Do I watch more sports and care more in my free time than the so called professionals?? It’s not like Denver is some obscure team in the bottom half of the league that just made the playoffs for the first time. They have been one of the best teams in the west for awhile now.

At least she admits it. From the quality of commentary I’ve been seeing about the Nugs I’m pretty sure only Chuck and a handful of interns have watched a Nuggets game in the past 5 years.

It sounds like she doesn’t really watch basketball on TV and only watches in person, which obviously is a bit weird considering that you’d *think* she’d live and breathe basketball but I can kind of understand if she just shows up in person to do her job and doesn’t really watch basketball outside of that.

How can you call yourself a basketball reporter if you haven’t ever seen a 2-time MVP play? Sure, the Nuggets aren’t featured in prime time as often as the Lakers or Knicks, but they are definitely featured enough for an NBA REPORTER to see them play. I wish I could get paid to slack as hard at my job as Lisa Salters does.
