[DiGiovanni] Jake reports that the Sixers’ main candidates are not expected to grow past the 6 that Woj said (Nurse, Bud, Vogel, Cassell, MDA, Monty). Also adds that several members from Doc’s staff saw Harden as “a driving force behind Rivers’ departure.”

I just saw that Redick is the betting favorite to get the job though?

If Harden was the driving force, then we are likely bringing him back.

This is a *good* thing, because Harden basically leaked he wants a coach who will let him hoop, instead of feeding Jo all season.

Never forget games 1 and 4. We can win a chip if we are empowering Harden to ball out like that.

Jo needs to get his fucking head out of his ass and buy into a modern day offense. He can still get his touches and shots without stopping the ball.

Welp, I guess Cassell it is.

    I don’t really want a retread.

  4. Harden is not even contracted to the Sixers right now, seems like a bullshit article honestly

Retreads lmao. They aren’t even pretending to put any effort into this search.

Literally just any coach with a ring so they can brag about hiring a “winner”

    This covers two ways.

    1. If Harden leaves you can pin the blame on him for being a coach killer.

    2. If he re-signs, you can say Glenn wasn’t well liked by most of the players

Morey’s going to hang a long-term Harden contract around our necks so he can try to save his job for one more season.

How about Sixers coach by committee. Burke, Joerger, and Cassel take turns depending on the matchups.

    Two things can be true:

    1. Doc Rivers deserved to be fired.
    2. James Harden didn’t want to play another season under Doc.

There are many things that go with point one. The team made it pretty clear by all reports that another playoff disappointment would be unacceptable. Doc would be gone with or without Harden’s feelings.

I would take this report with a grain of salt.

    1. Morey likes to talk to media, but isn’t known for being 100% honest with his moves.
    2. Jake Fischer’s reports tend to be more speculative. He has a decent track record, but it’s not like a Woj tweet, where you can basically treat it like an official press release.

There have to be excellent non-retread options out there. Cassell or other quality assistants please.

The entire sixers fan base is forever grateful to Harden if he got rid of Doc.
