Lakers showed their cards first, after getting blown out for 3 quarters. They (all sports media) will find anyway to spin things to keep Laker people watching. The one thing that never changes in life.
Actually feel sorry for Rui because media hyped his defense in one quarter up so hard, and now when Jokic gives him 40 piece everyone will scratch their heads and blame the poor guy. Not sure why Skip picked Denver to win this series because he complained about their game ever since.

The thing is, Jokic is a an equal, if not better, defender than AD. For this season alone: Jokic has a better Defensive box plus minus (4.5 to 1.7), more defensive win shares (3.8 to 3.4), steal percentage (1.8 to 1.5), Total rebound percentage (20.2 to 19.7), and defensive rebound percentage (31.3 to 27.6). Combine this with the fact that Jokic dominates AD in almost every offensive rate category (2P%, 3P%, FT%, FG%,) and every single league adjusted shooting stat, (FG+, 2P+, 3P+, eFG+, FT+, TS+ FTr+, 3PAr+), Jokic is quite obviously the more valuable player, as evidenced by him being double the value over replacement than AD (8.8 to 4.0).
The playoffs have a tiny sample size, only 12 and 13 games, but we can still see a similar story to the regular season.
The only notable advantage that AD has is his blocks. (blocks per 36 he led by 3.0 to Jokic 0.8, and per 100 possessions led by 4.1 to 1.1). He also has a better Defensive rating, allowing 100 pts per 100 possessions to Jokic's 110. But in terms of production, Jokic still wipes the floor. Offensively he more than makes up for any defensive shortcomings he may have, notably leading in assists by a huge margin. (13.3 to 3.5 per 100 possessions).
Oh and lets not foget, the playoff defensive plus minus favors Jokic 3.7 to 3.4, and the offensive box plus minus is a staggering 11.0 to 3.1.
The stats paint a clear picture: In a game, Jokic is a more valuable defender than Anthony Davis. In addition to being an efficient defender, Jokic is a league leading offensive producer, dominating in nearly every category.
At this point I think Vando should start let Rui be that pop off the bench since Denver knows what to expect now. Vando can cause a lot of problems and let Rui be Mariano Rivera.
They should have D Lo come off of the bench as 6th man. He's a defensive liability. if he's putting up numbers I would keep him in the line up but he's not. Start him when they go back to LA
