Michael Malone: “There’s this [discussion] that even though the Lakers lost… they think they’ve got something. I’ll bet you every red penny I have that Darvin Ham would rather be up 1-0 than down 0-1.”

Breaking: Coach rather win than lose

  2. defenestrate_me_now

Is it me or does this dude seem perpetually cranky?

  3. Drunken_Vike

Everyone came out of that game feeling pretty good about the Lakers because of the ebb and flow of the game but moral victories don’t count for shit when all that matters is who gets to 4

  4. thatcuntcat

Can both not be true? They won and Lakers atleast have one adjustment to look forward to.

  5. mambaforever2481

I know what he’s trying to say, but he could’ve worded it better lol

  6. orphicwitch

finding out this guy’s from queens made a lot of things make sense

  7. ESPN literally have a whole segment on how Lakers should feel good because they lost game 1.

  8. OnlyMamaKnows

Everyones acting like the Nuggets will freeze in place for the series while the Lakers adjust. Both teams have coaches and smart players.

  9. trimble197

Jesus, the Nuggets are talking more about it than the Lakers

  10. ChrisIsDaBomb17

Denver is fighting against the media lol nobody on the Lakers is talking trash. They’re just complimenting Denver. It’s so funny

  11. richard_golbes

Everyone hates the Lakers so they are so ready to pounce on some sort of implied disrespect in the strawman “oh the Lakers think they won when they lost”.

It’s the opposite. Lakers fans respect the hell out of the Nuggets and most expected to lose Game 1, especially after the first half. Making it closer at the end and seeming to figure out a few things which worked against a really good team was somewhat encouraging. That’s it.

Lakers & Laker fans should just have come out of that game depressed they lost and forfeited according to Nuggets fans

  13. stonerwrld69

The media coverage after the game was like the Lakers won.. My favorite was..

“Who should feel better after game 1”

Multiple people on tv saying the Lakers 😂

  14. fanoftravisjones

Starting to think this guy doesn’t even have any red pennies

  15. Ok-Background-502

Mike Malone shadow boxing so hard he’s about to tell people if Embiid would rather be here or have the MVP.

  16. tagprobablylag

Malone notoriously only has blue pennies

  17. EnServe31

This narrative that Lakers played extremely bad in game 1 and almost tripped themselves into a victory is laughable. Lakers got 40pts from AD, 27 from Lebron, and got contributions from their supporting cast on top of shooting 55% is not what I would call a bad game. They actually played a great game it’s just Denver was a little better.

  18. KWash0222

For the record, most Lakers fans still felt the sting of that loss and absolutely would’ve loved to pull off the W. I feel like most of this chatter is in response to ESPN… which I don’t why anyone is paying the talking heads over there any mind to begin with

  19. SanctusXCV

Bruh it’s mostly the media saying this wtf lmfaooo

  20. The Nuggets feel very disrespected and it’s clear from their press conferences lol. They’re finally better than the Lakers after all these years, they’ve won game 1 at their home and all everyone is talking about is how the Lakers almost came back down 20 and have figured you out. Gotta suck 😂.

  21. goldspikesv7

Why is this dude so sensitive

Like who cares you won the game bro

  22. ImCrossland

This shit is so annoying. Dude is up 1-0 in the series and taking offense that the Lakers are taking moral victories? If the Lakers are satisfied after an L just let it be. Keep poking the bear and it’ll be you trying to find the positives in a loss.

  23. Since when do the nuggets and their org talk this much

  24. Ntnme2lose

Well no shit. You can take positives from a loss and try to build upon them at the same time.

  25. titleywinker

A lot of us are just relieved we can reasonably expect a fun series to watch. Blowouts aren’t entertaining

  26. Lucieddreams

The media sucks dude. Other teams hate us because there’s always constant “discussion” around the team. And if the media talks about it, it’s only natural that the fans will talk about it too.

The actual team and Lakers organization though hasn’t said anything. And now this whole discussion about adjustments is blown out of proportion like always, and whatever adjustments Ham makes will be judged more harshly from now on

  27. Th3PatrickBateman

I feel like the only reason this is being discussed is because the Lakers were getting blown out in the 1st half and it looked like it wasn’t going to even be a series. it’s not like LA is parading after the loss, it’s just impressive that they made it close when it was close to being over at halftime

  28. NudeEnjoyer

I’ve never seen a team/fanbase get so defensive after a win in my entire life lmao

  29. henchilada

This is hilarious how much Denver doesn’t want to cede the moral victory in game 1. Let the Lakers feel like they almost stole the game. Who cares?
