That number 5 pick is fairly worthless on the market. That draft is a straight crap shoot after 2 with a lot young guys who have various flaws in their games. None of these guys is truly dominant after 2. You might indeed find a guy, but the going will be rough. Therefore, the trade value for a guy who is a maybe is considerably less than for a guy who you know will be plug and play and killer in a role with room for growth that is evident on a nightly basis.
Just take best player available and hope you get lucky.

Problem with Siakam trade is he's on a 1 year deal.
that knicks offer is pretty bad. There is no incentive for the Pistons to give up that much for RJ Barret, he is not that good.
