Joe on no Grant Williams in Game 1: “We have a plan to use the depth that we need in order to give us the lineups that we think can really help us … I thought Payton gave us an opportunity with his shooting, with his playmaking, his pick and roll defense … Grant is always going to be ready…

Pritchard did nothing wtf is he talking about

Reason #4 Joe is dumb…..puts PP in for his shooting, doesn’t get him the ball to shoot.

Nice work joe. Should get the HOF bust ready for induction.

  3. There’s no way grant went from a key rotation player last year to seeing zero play time. He has no clue wtf he’s doing

  4. Pablo-Checon

He just expects players abilities to do something to magically come alive. Like no idiot, if you want him to shoot you gotta draw up some plays to get him open. If you want him to play make, you gotta let him know you want him to run some offense.

Don’t play PP again bro . You were there last year when paying him didn’t work. Not sure why tf you thought that it would work this year??

  6. Cankor0

Joe probably forgot Grant was playing for our team.

  7. Aurock75

Dude acting like PP but up double digits. He went 0-2

Playmaking is going to better with any of our ball handlers who do get rotation minutes handling the ball.

Defense is going to be better with Grant playing with four of our top 7 guys.

And Grant is just as likely to hit his open shots as Pritchard is.

Live and learn, but Grant was a great matchup against the Heat last season this shouldn’t be a hard decision when we are healthy.

The smug don’t question me I know what I’m doing is really fucking annoying

This is my 1st real sticking point where I feel like Joe made a big mistake with the lineup and I hope he doesn’t do it twice. I don’t mind what he’s saying though, I’d rather him not be throwing PP under the bud even if he doesn’t intend to use him again this series.

But Hauser could’ve provided all of those things while likely doing a better job holding his own when Miami starts hunting him on defense. If you’re gonna pull a cold body off the bench hoping for results then why not Sam?!?

Butler hunted Pritchard and just shot over him. Basically handed them points

  12. Please fire this clown and hire Monty Williams

Why is his ‘plan’ always the opposite of what ‘most’ people think (timeout timing, lineup, etc.) did he think so far ahead, like 4D chess? or he just does not want to follow what majority of people do?

  14. GooseMay0

Does anyone have stats that back up Joe’s claim that Pritchard is a good pick and role defender?

  15. uncriticalthinking

This guy is in way over his head.

  16. HyruleJedi

How about take a time out and think about that Joe

I finally know how Eagles fans felt about Andy Reid and TO’s

PP is/ was the only answer to try to counter Miami’s up-tempo pace… None of the others want anything to do with their fast pace… Especially their bench…

Miami’s player movement is what the C’s lack… And C’s can’t defend without running out of steam… Why they drop- cover…

  18. Blkswn1017

I can’t wait till he’s replaced he’s living on borrowed time he owes JT his job for bailing him out with those 3’s in the fourth against Philly

  19. Thing is, I’m actually not completely upset about throwing PP in. My issue with rotation is that he didn’t do it often enough earlier rounds. He randomly gets thrown in after practically no mins all postseason, ofc he is gonna be cold and a little lost.

Same with Grant, hate to say it but don’t be shocked if his first game back the chemistry and his execution is rusty. Need to keep these players warm.

  20. punchbag34

Feels like Joe trying to be cute with the rotations because he got proven wrong when the players went over his head to start Rob.

  21. Agitated_Ant_1201

Depth in the playoffs is such a joke. Nobody ever does it. They have 7 to 8 consistent guys. The rest of the players rotate the little bit of minutes left. There was a playoff game tonight where it was 6 vs 7 players rotational. Nuggets with 6 players won.

  22. minimumhatred

I don’t think Pritchard was as bad as some people are saying, but grant should be getting minutes as well, the rotation has been way too tight this playoffs.
