It’s either this year or next imo. At some point, we’d really have too many young players.

The way I think about it, we had one of the 5 best players in the NBA and still ended at 12. No way that 33 year old Harden moves the needle for Houston enough to get them out of top 10

It’s not that shiny. This will just be used to get a disgruntled vet after we swap a few younger players. Nobody is trading a significant pick down for a bunch of future picks.

While I’m tempted to say yes, I think it’s important to see how this team with Chet looks. If they are roughly the same as last year, then it’s too soon. If they make another jump like I think is possible, it’s time to start looking at trades.

Next year for you guys imo. Because:
    1. Gotta see what Chet brings to the table
    2. Free agency/tradable players this year are pretty mid

Would you all entertain the following for the third pick?

    Thunder get: 3rd overall pick

Blazers get: Dort and good player team 3.

    Third team gets: 12th pick – clippers 2024 – Utah’s top 10 protected 2024 – Miami’s 2025 lottery protected – and Poku or Mann.

Utah Miami or our own picks sure. I don’t want to touch those Houston or Clippers picks. They could have insane upside with the Rockets almost guaranteed to suck and the Clippers injuries.

There’s definitely worse problems to have, but if they were to dip into the chest to make a deal for a star or established player, they may have to include some of their young assets just to make the money work

Definitely too early to tell. Lots of promise in Chet; gotta see how he holds up with the 82 game grind

At this point, I think they need more of a veteran presence; might be able to attract someone on the open market. Might be an opportunity for a reunion with Westbrook if the money is right. Definitely need to look for more depth at the 5. Maybe reunion with Muscala, or beef up on the defensive end if they can lure Poeltl. With the Raptors in mind, depending on what they want to do for next season, might be able to explore opportunities for Siakam

Cap space opens up quite a bit for next season with all the other baggage coming off the books.

Naw. This is not a winning team, yet. Think about the previous iteration. We took the Lakers to 7 in round 1, then we started cashing in chips.

If we dont flame out in the playoffs next year. And I mean not get blown out in any round. Then maybe chips will be moved.

Offer the whole fucking chest + as many future 1st round picks of our own as allowed to San Antonio for the №1 overall.

Wait ok I’m not a thunder fan but help me rq, where did the heat and jazz picks come from? I know the rockets picks are from the Westbrook trade and the clippers picks are from the Paul George trade, but idk the other two

Presti has been mostly reactive his whole stint in here the trade when we got PG is prolly the most active he has been. I hope he does something proactive again this time.

I honestly though the only way acquiring all those picks made sense was if they were going to use them for something like Wemby, but Presti has no actual plan here.
