[Slater] Why Nets could revisit Royce O’Neale trade talks after nearly dealing him to Cavs at deadline
The Nets nearly traded Royce O'Neale to the Cavs at the deadline per @ChrisFedor:
"They came close in Feb and were far down the road on a deal for BKN’s Royce O’Neale before it opted not to trade him."

Source of rumor: Chris Fedor
Royce would be a fantastic fit for the Cavs. I’m not sure as to what assets the Cavs have, but if we could pry away a first for Royce’s expiring, I’d consider that a huge success.
****, I was about to post that. You beat me to it
“Fedor runs a Q&A segment for Cleveland.com called ‘Hey, Chris!’ and in that, he answers questions from fans who are subscribed and meet the requirements to be able to ask questions to him about the Cavaliers. One of the questions that he answered was what is the biggest offseason for Cleveland and how they fill that need.
While explaining that the Cavs’ biggest need is the small forward spot, Fedor mentioned that the Cavaliers came close to addressing that need at the February trade deadline by being far down the road in trading for O’Neale. However, Fedor also says that Cleveland eventually decided against trading for the Baylor Bear.”

The Cavaliers also apparently looked at Joe Harris during the deadline too.
The Cavs don’t seem like a good match. But they claim it was nearly done, I wonder for what?
Don’t know if this makes sense, but maybe the Nets could trade O’Neale to Houston in exchange for them giving up the 3 remaining swaps they have
in the offseason i would be super interested in a Royce for Okoro swap.
with that being said, i feel like the nets were about to trade royce for LeVert and use it as some sort of Pr move about getting the 2018-19 teams core back together
