Minor setback for a major comeback

  2. Impossible_Ad_8509

Tbh I’m not even mad. He obviously doesn’t care about winning and has never been a winner.

  3. bigSpeakersReddit

this off-season is gonna be a wild ride. have no idea how this team realistically improves going into next season

  4. TDarryl

Regardless of whether you want him back or not, all this loose talk means nothing. Lots of sides are motivated to scare the other side for a lot of reasons. Don’t believe anything until it’s done.

  5. pagonator

Have this weird feeling he’s gonna go to Phoenix

  6. fantasyfirst

Watch we hire Nick Nurse and then sign Fred VanVleet in free agency now lol

  7. RylanKura

The dreams he sold me were sweet. Good bye James.

  8. SKoreaSixerFan

This man just fucked doc and is leaving rn lollll

  9. No-Operation9423

Keith Pompey isn’t a trusted source. He’s a beat writer. Not an insider

  10. leyendadelflash

Am I crazy or does the headline not match the article? It’s all the same “league executives expect” language from when these reports first started

  11. lyonbc1

Am I reading this wrong or is this just the same exact speculation we’ve been hearing? Pompey doesn’t cite anything other than the same reports that have been there and him having family and a house in Houston. I thought this would be sourced with more definitive language but other than the title this is just the same speculation.

We are screwed if this happens. I know 90% of the people on this sub want him gone and think Maxey can lead the offense but y’all are in for a very rude awakening lol. I love tyrese but that’s not his game at all. Joel gonna have to work so much harder to score now and our guys won’t have anyone to set up easy looks. This would be really tough to lose him. Morey would have to get really creative but I don’t see a viable alternative other than wasting a prime yr of Joel smh

  12. throwawayjoeyboots

He may very well end up in Houston again, but this is 100% a leak from his camp to get Morey to pony up.

Maybe there’s a sleeper team out there, but he basically has only 2 teams really willing to pay him.

Harden’s camp leaks more shit than almost anyone in the league.

  13. Willigers27

if this is true and he does leave (i’m not buying it) then how fast does P.J Tucker ask for a trade?

  14. jstrong546

This is probably a blessing in disguise. Harden just isn’t THE guy anymore. He had a good couple years with us. Showed out a few times. But I do not want an aging, declining Harden on the squad for the next 4-5 years.

Yeah, next year might be disappointing, but if we keep Harden the next 5 years might be disappointing. People are all doom and gloom right now but opportunities will arise. Maybe a couple of teams blow up their rosters at the trade deadline next season and we snag some assets. We’re not dead in the water just yet. Far from it really.

I have no bad feelings for this which is…bad? Team is an odd spot and can go multiple ways.

  16. SomeGuyNamedJohn12

My God!! Ime and Harden on the same team?? They’d get no work done 🤯 Harden is gonna show him All the spots.

    Rockets fans can’t want this.

  17. Light_Liberty

Harden going to save Morey from himself.

  18. EaglesX63

While I would prefer to see Harden back I wonder if the super team, multiple superstars era is fading away. It almost seems like the best teams have A guy and then they fill around him with the best players for the required roles. As opposed to getting the best talent and then forcing them to play a role they may not be best suited for.

  19. Bnagorski

If Harden walks the sixers are screwed, mostly because houston has enough cap space to sign him without found a sign and trade. The sixers get nothing in return and would have no effective cap room to replace him

  20. mrHartnabrig

Don’t buy it. But hey, I’m out on Harden either way.

  21. xychosis

If he does leave, well, these two seasons were fun. All love, James. Still a fan no matter what.

  22. stormin-gordon

The fact that he wants to make this move to Houston tells you all you need to know about him. He wants his stats and doesn’t care enough about winning. Fine for the regular season but untenable throughout the playoffs

  23. jpk7220

Definitely kind of relieved. I would’ve convinced myself to accept Harden back if they re-signed him, but it was annoying watching him throw up awful layups while grifting for fouls and getting blocked. The flip side, he was an incredible passer and that was a joy to watch at times.

The team may take a step back next year, but I’ll enjoy the 2 man game develop between Maxey and Embiid. Embiid will return to point-Embiid, like he was doing before the Harden trade. It will be entertaining at the very least.

At this point, I’ll convince myself to accept anything. I wouldn’t even be mad at a rebuild, but if Embiid remains on the team, I’ll enjoy Maxey and Embiid leading the squad for another year or two.

  24. kobbled

Ok, so who can we get that can run point? Maxey/Melton are better as 2s, do we re-sign and start shake?

  25. Nicetrybozo

I wanna go on record saying FUCK DARYL MOREY! You all have sucked him off and talked shit about Brand but its MOREY who destroyed this team. He put shit rosters on the floor around Embiid and passed up BETTER FITS to chase Harden’s washed up ass. I hope this team doesn’t win shit b.c u mfers deserve the pits for supporting this fucking clown.

  26. chem_daddy

Sixers are in a very weird state. They are going be to shit without Harden.. but signing Harden to a high value long term deal sets them back too.

They don’t have assets and they lack solid 3 and D depth in this modern NBA. Embiid is not going to carry this team to a chip… the modern NBA requires a 1) ball dominant guard who can create his own shot, can run a good PnR/PnP surrounded by shooters or 2) requires surrounding a passing center with quality 3 and D guys. The Sixers have NEITHER.

If they spam Embiid they might be a 40-50win team but will never truly make the finals. If they trade Embiid and start a rebuild they’re going to be like 6-7 years away from being relevant.

They have limited assets and have limited financial flexibility. Adding Nurse to this roster without a true PG that can create his own shots, along with still having the same unathletic wings, is not an improvement to this roster. It’s the depressing reality

  27. MonkeyCoR1

Man this is gonna be a tough off season for Sixers fans. I’m sorry man. My condolences.

  28. SeoneAsa

At least sign and trade would be ideal for sixers.. sad sad fate if not.

  29. IDoesThis1

If he can’t show up for the biggest game then go ahead then. He wasn’t brought here to put up nice stats in the regular season. He can go back to Houston and do that

  30. Mugsy1214

They way he played in Game 7. If I was the owner. He is gone no matter what. Fuck em.
