[MacMahon] Lots of talk about the Lakers star’s fatigue today, but the two guys who logged the most minutes last night were an ill Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, whose conditioning was a major concern once upon a time.

  1. We’re lowkey one of the best conditioned teams in the NBA.

  2. BoneyardBill

Joker goes to the weight room after every single game. Man is a workhorse.

  3. RedHotDogsForMe

Jokic isn’t fat or out of shape…. That’s the crazy thing, it’s just a meme and ESPN and people who doesn’t watch nuggets basketball run with this stupid meme

  4. bloodmuffins793

The guy who once played 65 minutes in a 4OT game?

  5. Game 1: Rui Adjustments
    Game 2: Fatigue
Game 3: Want to become the first team to come back from a 3-0 deficit?

  6. Islandkid679

Jok played 60+ minutes and 4OTs against the Blazers in a Game 5, that was 4 years ago.

  7. FERFreak731

Jokic lost weight, LeBron and AD are getting older. Jokic was able to fix being tired, LeBron, and AD can’t, as they’re getting older

  8. CrazyPersonXV

Yeah like 7 years ago when he was 25% fat

  9. NoiceForNoReason

Nikola “Secretariat” Jokic will be fine. Jamal has conditioning concerns… but Jokic will be just fine.

  10. hiitsleo

Even when Jokic was bigger than this his conditioning was always really good for a 7 footer. He’s been playing these kind of minutes for years and is 10 years younger than LeBron.

Literally has the most minutes played in a game for a center all time. The ‘conditioning’ bullshit was always just about how he looked not about how he actually played. For his size he has incredible endurance.

  11. SliMShady55222

Sloppyfatboi is a well tuned oiled machine

  12. itsavirus

Lebron may have not had the most minutes but this is the only game where I saw him being his old self for more than a quarter. He had his bursts with Memphis (4th quarter/OT Game 3) and a few with the Warriors on their runs but Nuggets are the only one that have held on.

  13. IdRatherBeLurking

Nikola Jokic’s conditioning was never a major concern. Ever. His weight was, but his conditioning was not.

The motherfucker played 65 minutes in a 4OT playoff game in 2019. He didn’t “get in shape” for another year.

  14. Jokic has never had issues with conditioning and Jamal is just starting to recover from a week long illness. We’re fine. Worry about the old dude on the other team

  15. altruisticdisaster

Anybody have that clip from this regular season of Ayton looking winded and talking about how much Jokic runs?

  16. Johnyyyyyyyyy

It was actually a win for the Lakers, who are now up 2-0

  17. For fucks sake, I hate how the media is talking about us so much. We’re losing, our stars aren’t playing well and we’re getting outplayed, and out hustled.

  18. Kevon-Looneys-burner

Jokic is in great shape. I know for a fact he can last 42 mins +

  19. walkintall84

MacMahon launching attacks on other franchises since there is no Mavs story.

Maybe write an article at the actual draft how the Blazers tanked out of play-in terrority with 10 games left on the season without the NBA noticing it. Just giving you some ideas @ Tim

    NBA need some more drama.

  20. Lucieddreams

“Lots of talk about the Lakers star’s fatigue today”

Yes, talk that you have contrived while the Lakers organization has remained silent. Media is so stupid, creating meaningless stories and then making fun of their own narrative for how meaningless it is.

  21. UnderratedNightmare

Jokic is one of the most in shape players in the league. Every time you all say this it gets proved wrong the next game. He is just a mouth breather, thats why he looks tired lol. The guy could play all 48 and be fine. Weve seen it before. He out runs AD & Ayton.

  22. Honestly aside maybe rookie years Jokic conditioning was always good . Ppl were talking bad about it when he was averaging most minutes in playoffs, like the crazy game vs Portland OTs or bubble etc.

But they didn’t watch him so “fat unathletic” stereotype followed him

  23. Nikola Jokic, whose conditioning was a major concern once upon a time (*when he was a really fat 12-year-old). Totally relevant to his point though, since Jokic is actually known for having a great conditioning/endurance now (despite his appearance).

  24. flukeunderwi

Jokic looks out of shape because he never really looks like he’s sprinting; but sure as hell he just keeps on rolling up and down the court lol

  25. Hon3ynuts

They gotta put Embiid on the Nuggets fitness plan Asap

  26. Jasperbeardly11

I think it was Chauncey billups but it was some guy deeply affiliated with the NBA who’s played in big games and watched a bunch of them ever since he retired. He was talking about Nikola and said say what you will about how he looks but this guy is as conditioned as any other player to play basketball (I’m paraphrasing but that was what he was implying)

  27. FantasyAnus

The guy logs his minutes in Denver, he’s fit as a fucking fiddle. He’s just big. Stick Embiid in Denver and he’d need a cane by the third.

  28. chowdercup

They’re conditioned playing at altitude. The home court advantage is no joke.

Like, it’s no secret that before competition teams or individuals do high performance training at altitude or at other extreme environments.

Teams that do it all the time have an advantage playing others in that environment.

He don’t look like it but he joker is low key probably one of the best conditioned athletes in the world

  29. bad_timing_bro

Guys we found the new media narrative about why being down 0-2 isn’t as bad as it looks for the Lakers.

  30. In last Jokic interview he specifically told a story how he was in “Spartan” regime for 7 years, until last summer where he started relaxing bit more ( treats himself good food and some vino for 2 weeks) and gets back to working out again. And he doesn’t practice stupid stuff or moves he would not do in the game.

  31. jumboponcho

Nikola was SPRINTING back on D every time damn near, you don’t see many 5s doing that if any at all. Then he was frequently leading the break. He ran AD into the ground, all his shit was short

  32. chromehound47

the NBA is better when the lakers are irrelevant

  33. rohan-omo

can anyone who’s been to denver speak on if there’s any truth to the whole altitude thing

  34. People see Jokic’s on court demeanor and mistake it for fatigue. Dude is the best conditioned big man in the league.
