This talking about last year’s 7th pick?
Throw Thad/Gary into it get the pick and Simons. As long as we keep Pascal, we’re able to compete now and simultaneously build towards the future
Masais greed killing us rn
The 3rd pick is literally ours if Masai wants it man
People keep saying it’s Masai as if Bobby Webster doesn’t exist. Masai does advise him, but Bobby is the one who makes the final decision on moves.
Well obviously Masai would want more than a 7th pick for OG lol. We would not trade OG for Sharpe 1 for 1 today.
To be fair, if we did that deal, the Blazers wouldn’t have tanked and it wouldn’t be anywhere near the 3rd pick.
I more lament we didn’t pick up Sharpe before he got the opportunity to show out
We really could have shaedon sharpe but masai got such hard on for these players he drafted
Kawhi the only reason we won that fucking title, he’s not longer here.
God damn
If they made that trade then Portland would have been a playoff team and the pick wouldn’t have been a lottery pick…so it was a smart decision by Masai to sit tight.
The trade obviously makes sense now that they have the 3rd pick because we know exactly what we’re getting but we didn’t before.
As someone said, probably cause Portland was towards the Lower end of the lottery, and the pick would’ve likely been worse as I would assume Portland would at least contend for the play in with OG.
Now let’s see what happens. The value of the pick is higher and OGs value is lower (loss of contract control). Also the projected 3 guy is at a position of Portland strength. Seeing they want to contend, doubt they trade down.
I read rumours of KAT maybe being available too, but that would probably be a huge deal rather than maybe a single pick.
I rather trade Siakam than OG even if it means we’re getting less value for PS. I feel like we need OG more than we need Siakam
ben shapiro hoops pod
Masai overvaluing his own players again
Peoples inability to read is astounding.
The amount of people assuming that its either;
– The 3rd pick this year
– The Blazers pick at the deadline
And Masai was right not doing that. OG for a 7th pick is a massive fleece, and he’s gotten arguably **more** valuable now making an all defense team, but 1 year less on a fantastic contract.
IMO trading OG is a bad idea, his age and his contract, even with the extension, is worth keeping over the Siakam/FVV tandem.
My worry is that Masai thinks that getting rid of OG for some depth and replacing him with Scottie is good enough to run back, and that’s probably the worst case scenario.
Portland would be lucky if their 3rd pick turned into an elite 3 and D wing that can guard 1-5 at an All-NBA level in a few years. If they offer the 3rd pick for OG I would take it tbh
