I am a long time portland fan, and I am sad to say I agree. We are unfortunately in a way better position to trade dame and rebuild than try to make something happen with our current roster and 1 addition. Unless that addition is embid giannis or jokic, I dont think its enough to make a championship team. But also basically impossible to acquire them.
I think anfernee and shaedon both have crazy upside still as well. Could see either an all star in the future still. Was reaaally hoping for the wemby sweepstakes tho. Unfortunate, as always for the zers though. Even if we get the picks we tend to goof it, (MJ,KD) whiff.

I understand Dameās loyalty to the city of Portland and its fans but, other than paying him, the Blazers organization has done nothing for him. If he leaves, I donāt think anyone will blame him. But it makes no sense for the Knicks to trade for Dame when they already have a point guard in Brunson who is younger and getting paid a lot less

I will say in the Blazers defense, they have always said to "retool" a team around Dame was a multi year process. This being the other year, if they can parley that 3 pick into a Pascal or Mikal Bridges along with resigning Grant. Maybe moving Nurk for a different 5. Blazers could have a pretty good team around them. You also have to understand, they are small market team. You dont have the privilege of being an LA, Miami, NY, Texas, etc. You either draft your own dudes, or get assets and trade for one. One does not simply walk into Portland.
