Mmmm i would never trade for Poole lol. He doesnt play defense and we need to improve there.
Keldon is a fan favorite, and Pop loves him. He took Keldon to the Olympics and won a medal with him.
I agree with your Wesley take. He can get going for us and we'll be good to go. The Nuggs and the Heat are giving us the blueprint. Get a deep roster to compete every day to get a deep team.
I thought it was going to be about Pop winning 91 games over the last 4 years. That seems pretty bad.
I'm sure you could summon up a touching pre-draft talisman story in Detroit, but the end of that story is 5th pick. San Antonio winning first pick will never be an endorsement for tanking, or whatever it is they have been doing for the last many years. Losing games does not generate luck and it certainly doesn't build a team. In the end, they are going to have to win some real games, not the imaginary ones we have forfeited to them because we worship at the Wemby altar. Ask New Orleans how their generational player is guaranteeing them a title. Or Minnesota (Wiggins or KAT – your choice). Or Philadelphia (Simmons or Embiid – again your choice). So many others that have been marked as the next Willie Mays, and rarely is it that player the rises to be MVP or win a title. The last first pick to lead a team to a title is Lebron (I don't count Irving or Davis – they were second man to Lebron on their title teams). Let's wait to see how this plays out. I hope he's great, but he has to earn it. Who knows, Wemby may be just good enough that San Antonio will not get another lottery pick before he leaves in free agency. Cheers.
