I’ve been curious about the stat comparison. Wemby is younger so maybe has more time to improve, but I like how Chet wins most of the comparison stats even when his role was smaller in college. I hear claims that wemby owned Chet in the U19 worlds, but it looked like Chet was much more efficient. Will be interesting to see their battle for ROTY.

I’m very high on Chet. But the allure of Wemby isn’t just stats. He is 7’5 with an 8 foot wingspan. His body looks like he can hold wait more than a Chet. His handles is in heard of for someone at 7 foot. He is also younger.

I’m so excited for Chet and I think he is going to really push our team to that next step. But 30/30 GMs are drafting Wemby over Chet. The potential is Mount Rushmore.

It’s fascinating. It seems Chet plays a little more like a true center, prioritizing rebounds and blocks with the ability to shoot from outside to keep things interesting. Wemby almost plays like a 3 or 4, leaning more heavily on his outside shots. I’m curious if Wemby compensates more than Chet to avoid bully ball on the inside or if it’s just a byproduct of Wemby being a swiss army knife that can have a strong impact on the game from anywhere. I could see a bit of both.

I’d love to test it with a big that is strong enough to play physical with Wembanyama but agile enough to keep up with him going to the outside to see if you can somewhat lock him up. Unfortunately, that’s almost as rare of a player as Wemby is in the first place. Hopefully Chet still has some beefing up over the Summer.

Wemby’s allure is largely a part of his insane fluidity at his height. Factor that in with his high ft% indicating that his shot is good makes him the better prospect. Chet has better defensive instincts and is at the moment a better shot-maker though.

Chet plays within the offense more than Wemby, which may end up being good. But Wemby also more upside because if it. Some of the way Wemby’s shooting is talked about is pretty crazy tho. He’s got a long way to go there.

This is the first time I see Wemb’s shooting stats and I must say he is shooting terribly bad considering that literally no one is able to deny or even contest his jumpshots. Not saying that he won’t improve in the future but imo he is just not leveraging his physicality to the full.

I didn’t even look at the numbers. I just wanted to say Wemby is better.

The roles they played were much different. Few used Holmgren as like a secondary help guy to Drew Timme, play finisher, etc. Didn’t really “unleash” him just gave him safe and sure things to do.

One played collegiate in the mighty WCC… the other player professional
