  1. yeah its hard to find full games. Here's a couple good highlight vids that give a good representation of what that series was like. Just copy/paste the code in the address bar.

  2. How scary would this team have been had they taken Melo or Wade instead of Darko? Great offensive player along with this defense? Whewww.. I can only imagine.

  3. id say they were stars! chauncy , ben wallace , hamilton! chauncy and hamilton were 2 of the best shooters man 🙂

  4. I ain't a piston fan but I hope they get their shit back together, the city and team needs it.

  5. I feel like The Pistons now really need to draft or receive defensive players mainly. It was the 1988 Bad Boys, to this 2004 Pistons, it was always been defense that made this team hard to beat. If they could bring back atleast that kind of intensity and defensive lineups, Pistons will be back

  6. Great series, two great teams.. Larry Brown fucked the Pistons, up bye 10 game seven u don’t sit McDyess and Rasheed with 4 fouls in forth quarter. Then have Tayshaun Prince guarding Tim Duncan.

  7. Man I wish that 05 Pistons squad beat the Spurs in 05’..they were so close

  8. Pistons were the better team in this finals, but they made the crucial mistake in game 5 and left Robert Horry all alone and Mr. Big Shot drained a triple for a OT victory.

  9. The real question is
How will this type of defense stand against modern curry gsw team?

  10. im a spurs fan and i wanted the pistons to win this series, i wanted them to win back to back championahiop to get all the media attantion and respect they deserve.

  11. They could of kept the 04 pistons longer than they did . They still had it together until they traded Mr Big Shot !! Then it went down hill after that !!

  12. Had Malice in the Palace not happened, the Pistons could have been back2back champs. The officiating in G7 of this series, in the last quarter specially in closing minutes were horrible. G7 was a gift to the Spurs
    .

  13. Man the pistons, as a franchise, really are contenders for garnering the best defensive squads of all time

  14. For a stretch of five games the pistons didn’t let there opponents reach 70 points and had 19 blocks in a game 2 against a team I can’t remember

  15. One of my favorite teams from that era. They played the game right, and I love how a bunch of “role players”!could defeat the stacked Lakers! They should have brought home three or four rings.

  16. Sadly they can't play this type of defense in the basketball any longer. They play like softies today.

  17. imo, 04 pistons were the best defensive team of all time. 05 was sick too

  18. 17 years later, I still get goosebumps watching this. No other team in NBA history made defense & subsequent transition offense as fun to watch as the 2003-04 and 2004-05 Pistons. The NBA record sold out Palace crowds roaring, Thundersticks booming, 'Sheed screaming "Ball Don't Lie", fans wearing afro wigs and face masks all over the place, the bell tolling whenever Big Ben made a play, the Piston/horn audio effects, Mason's announcing + pregame flamethrowers.

  19. Now THAT is a team. An easy 2 pointer miss at 0:47 followed by amazing lockdown defense. Which then turned into a beautiful steal, followed by 2 points that they missed out on just seconds earlier.

No fussing. No huffing and puffing. No blaming the refs. They simply continued to play the game of basketball.

That's how they won a Championship. By being a TEAM.

LeBron would never be on a team like this. He's too much of a pussy.

  20. This team defense was truly suffocating. So intimidating to play against. What I forgot was how quickly the Goin' to Work Pistons could turn great defense into quick strike transition offense.
