IF (BIG IF) the Lakers do decide to pursue Kyrie Irving in FA, the Knicks could sign a player like Rui Hachimura for more depth

Hachimura is a player I’ve kept my eyes on for a while and ever since he got traded, he’s been pretty good for the lakers and would be a good backup wing/PF. We would have to make a trade to free up cap space but hypothetically this would be a decent move for the team. Thoughts?

Rui is a RFA and LA will match whatever.

While on paper Kyrie is what the Lakers need, in reality he’s often injured by the time the playoffs come around. Between him, AD and Lebron with yet another year on his knees, somebody isn’t making it to the finish line. I think they’ll go after depth instead of 3rd star.

I think that would be dumb of them. They have a good thing going and should build off that. I also think they are not letting rui go and would let dlo brown go before him

he’s a RFA and “more depth”? You mean he’s going to sign here for the MLE and play 10-14mpg behind Randle? IDK why people act like we have open rotation spots, our rotation is stacked to the point where there are already zero minutes for Deuce or Sims who both deserve some. We cant sign a rotation player unless we trade someone.

Kyrie is poison. He’s Lebron’s boy, but Bron wants another ring more than he wants his friend.

Say Reaves and Rui are both offerer maxes that the Lakers would be forced to match, does that screw them?

Rui not even thinking about signing an MLE after the playoffs hes had. We can’t afford him either.
