Why would they Bronny’s replacement walk?

  2. aiden3buckets

They will overpay to keep him and I will enjoy more Lakers downfall because I am a hater.

  3. cypherdust

Reaves was worth 4/$50m before the playoffs. He’s probably worth 4/$70m now.

  4. ScottFoster91

They would be so stupid to let him walk, pay him & Rui whatever you need to

  5. CWinsu_120

He’s going to get a bag somewhere else and then underperform once he’s not getting the Lakers’ ref treatment.

  6. No_failure_in_sports

Orlando Magic please offer him the max just to fuck them over

  7. ZandrickEllison

My prediction: the market isn’t nearly as hot as the media claims (partly due to biases from NBA against low-drafted players and white players who play his style)…

So Reaves signs a decent contract with the Lakers and it’s spun as a hometown discount out of loyalty.

  8. Cankor0

4/80 is the starting price for Reaves after this playoffs.

    The Lakers can’t pay.

I won’t be surprised if other teams offering him 4/100mil

As a fan who watched NBA for years, you never know if your dear role player, who just had a year of brilliance, can sustain such production especially after signing a big contract. Expectation, motivation, injury, new coach, new teammates, ego, family matters, etc. all could affect their development and performance.

Of course, a good coach or GM should understand the player well enough to see if the role player is someone that can sustain such a production, but not all coach/ GM are that kind of good.

Austin Reeves needs help he can’t win with those cats.

  11. PoonGo0n

I think the Spurs should throw a 4yr deal at him in the 90-95mil range. Worst case scenario, you make the Lakers pay top dollar to keep him. But I think he’d be a nice fit with Victor.

  12. Schizio

Just for the LOLs sign and trade him for Jordan Poole

  13. HappyLongfellow

Todd from Wedding Crashers getting the bag.

  14. logontoreddit

I think he is a good role player but he has been getting some very favorable calls from the refs.

  15. TheHazelwood38

Lebrons needs to make sure they have their trade assets…I mean role players

  16. CanyonCoyote

Perhaps this is the year it all changes but won’t Reaves be overpaid in the range of 4 for 100 or thereabouts given the lack of free agents and the way these dudes ALWAYS get overpaid.

  17. they should shove DLo out the door. He’s too inconsistent offensively to be a complete liability on defense.

  18. Ghenges

They’re going to sign him and he’ll be there still on the lottery team when Lebron leaves.

  19. LaserSh0w

It would seem crazy to let him walk. He can play on the ball, off the ball, and he busts ass on defense

Reeves, Schroder & Rui all seem to fit well with Bron and AD. Vando too if he can improve the jumper just a bit

  20. ShowdownValue

So the lakers can only pay him something like 4/60? But if another team offers 4/80 the lakers can match?

Is that correct? I know the numbers may be off but is the general idea right?

  21. tripleyothreat

Same thing they said about Caruso tbh

  22. tulsuduke

This will likely be his best and most lucrative NBA deal. He turns 25 in about a week, and the next deal will cover the duration of his physical prime.

Take the best deal out there.

  23. Misterstaberinde

Lebron going to help Reeves and Rui get a bag then bounce and people will wonder why they fell off all of the sudden.

  24. TacoBurritoChurro

If the Lakers let AR-15 walk I’m probably giving up on the team. Pay him $20 mil per year and let that bum Dlo walk.

  25. he’s been their best player this postseason lmao

  26. marsexpresshydra

They better hope they can get a serviceable backup C and PG for dirt cheap then

  27. Mr_E_Nigma_Solver

Reaves bout to get that “*Coldest White Boy*” contract.

  28. optimusjprime

We need to keep Rui and Reaves. And bring back Carushow! That would be a real scrappy trio right there.

  29. joyloveroot

Yeah but Lebron is only in contract for one more season. Austin Reaves will demand at least a 4 year contract. Is he in the vision for the next 4 years post-Lebron?

Also, what is another team with loads of cap space simply outbids them?

  30. Asking4Afren

This is his one and only shot to make money. If you know his story you’ll know he’s gambled on himself his entire career. Guaranteed he’s going where the most money is at

  31. Weird way of saying “let him go and over pay Harden and Kuzma

  32. conyeighwest

I think Austin and rui are about to get overpaid and ruin a franchise for 3-4 years

  33. britchesss

Imagine they let him go and he ends up on the Bulls. He and Caruso can start a support group

  34. GillbergsAdvocate

    It’s Jeanie Buss

There’s absolutely a chance she lets him walk in free agency
