I’d still love to see John play some meaningful backup minutes with us. If he can embrace that role for the city that he loves and loves him back.

Still remember being 16 years old and remembering that we just drafted Beal. I wanted that man ALL YEAR when I watched him play in those YouTube videos back then. Still remember how genuinely happy and excited I was to know we had 2 guards that were undoubtedly going to be stars. I was so pumped for what our future was going to be with these 2. It’s unfortunate we didn’t get more years out of them, but man I’ll never forget those years of 2012-2017. I thank both of these guys for all those years where we genuinely had fun as fans. The one series that will always stick with me, is the bulls series. Never felt that hopeful about the future before after watching our young ass team absolutely destroy Noah in his dpoy season. Beal was only 20 years old, but that 13-14 run was what really showed me that he was destined to be a good ass player and that those Ray Allen comps were legit

A pairing I wished could’ve reached their fullest potential. It makes me smile to think how good this duo was, on and off the court.
It’s crazy that the last few purgatory years we’re in made me forget how good Brad was as number 2, and John being a dog as our leader.

I wonder if he’d be open to signing a deal to be a mentor to Black (or Wallace, or scoot if we traded up) with no guaranteed minutes (like Taj Gibson this year). I’d love to have him in general but I don’t want him to play significant minutes unless it’s out of necessity.
