This Pick Will Change Everything For The Rockets…



The Houston Rockets weren’t expected to be good. And they weren’t good
Finished with the second worst record in the league. On top of that they were one of the hardest teams in the league to watch. I like some of their young players. You guys know I’m a big Jalen Green guy. I think Jabari Smith showed the signs of promise as the season progressed. Tari Eason was the best rookie on the team in my opinion. Alperen Sengun is a really fun watch. However one thing was very clear on tape. They need two things. A point guard, because the answer isn’t Kevin Porter Jr. And they need defense. I don’t think they should scrap this rebuild for a rushed attempt to build a contender around a star of the past. And like with the Blazers video, this is based off what I would do, not what I think will happen. I think they should continue this rebuild. Because I think they have a chance to draft Amen Thompson. Who would solve both of the biggest issues with the team.

    – Pick 20: Dariq Whitehead

    Free Agency
    – Cam Johnson
    – Yuta Watanabe
    – Javon Carter

    Lineup:
    PG: Amen Thompson / Javon Carter
    SG: Jalen Green / KPJ
    SF: Cameron Johnson / Dariq Whitehead
    PF: Jabari Smith / Tari Eason / Yuta Watanabe
    C: Alperen Sengun

    Overlook:
    Let the young core grow and develop together. Sign a couple vets that fits the needs of the team (shooting / depth). A Amen/Jalen/Jabari trio is a nice trio to build your team around. Develop them and you got something good going forward.

    Houston have individuals with high upside all over the court. Green and Jabari were seen as guys who could have gone number one in two of the most stacked draft classes in years. Eason and Sengun are guys who if the draft was re done would have shot up draft boards like crazy. So the potential is there. It’s just last season no one gave a sh1t 😂 they were tanking in the worst way. It’s like they didn’t even have a coach. Green and KPJ can’t play together? No problem, both of you just go out and do what you want 😂 Defence? Nah just use the season for shooting practice 😂 so yeah with a new coach and a bit of ambition this team could become really really good. Imagine Amen Thompson, Green, Jabari, Eason and Sengun in five years. They all need to learn to shoot better and put more hustle on defence but that’s a very promising young team. You have a potentially good to great player in every spot.

    Do you think their future could be alright if they signed Harden with cap space but kept all their core assets (Jalen, Jabari, Sengun, Eason, pick 4 and maybe KPJ)?

    Because I’m thinking that’s the direction they go. I don’t see them landing a second star after Harden

    Serious question Houston fans. I asked this to my Hornets buddy. If Charlotte call on draft night and offer you Lamelo Ball for Sengun, Jabari and your pick in this draft would you say yes? Then you would fix your PG issues and Charlotte gets a nice young core of Jabari, Sengun and I guess Ausar Thompson to build around Scoot and kick off a nice new rebuild. Seems like a win win.
