4 years 201.8 mil. Hahaha what a fucking waste of resources that would be.
Cp3 wayyy better than having harden. Spend money on defensive vets and bench players
dear god, so much talk about this and i’m worried it’s actually gonna happen
What would be a better application of the money? The FA class is weak and there are no other stars available and this a team that wants/needs to take the next step because a top 5 protected pick can go to the Thunder.
I love Harden but PLEASE NO
Signing Harden to a 4-year max would be an awfully lazy and unimaginative waste of the cap space that was so carefully designed to be able to push this team into “phase 2” of the rebuild. Honestly it would signal that the front office has no faith in the young core. If this happens, it will surely be regarded as the poison pill that ultimately led to the failure of the rebuild.
Giving Harden 4 years MAX is incredibly shortsighted move and honestly makes you question the front office/owner moving forward.
I wonder if some of this is agreed upon smoke and mirrors for James. (it’s obvious there is some from his camp, but I wonder if the Rockets are also buying into this to help him.)
We’ll offer him a certain amount, maybe a slight lowball for his desired amount, and the team that’s really desperate will sign more money or even the max for him. He gets a win for his bag and our FO doesn’t get our (majority) cap space tied up with only him.
Our offer can easily set the tone for his market.
