  1. He isn't. Pop is still in the league. Ime was hired. Quinn Snyder is still coaching. If Nick Nurse gets hired Spoelstra will still be maybe the 5th or 6th best coach?

  2. Kinda reminds me of Coach Pop and the spurs on how they develop and utilise their players from 1-15. Always been a fan of Coach Spo and he’s barely talked about but always been consistently great.

  3. Called out Spoelstra when he took a Lebron-less, Wade-less, Bosh-less Heat to defeat a healthy Bobcats team. They were resting, the bobcats played hard, and Spo still helped win that game. It was regular season, but it takes a balanced coach to instill enough confidence in basically his bench unit to go out and beat another team’s starting unit. Will always be hard winning in the NBA, but to beat starters with bench players who play on a star focused team is probably tough to do no matter how you slice it.

  4. That’s exactly what I said , Spoe has created the culture and his mindset and attitude reflects in every player on the roster .

  5. The heat are a perfect example of coaching does make a difference…. miami is not more talented than boston or philly.but they are dominating boston which philly took to 7

  6. I could be SPO if I had the work ethic, the drive, the discipline, the knowledge, the mentality, the love, etc……but here I am…………It;s not easy…..hat's off too you

  7. It starts with Pat… Spo is just the hot topic of discussion.
Also don’t forget JJ has been asleep this post season on Miami! I ain’t forgot about your list when Miami was 1 win away from the ECF.

  8. Just think if Lebum stayed in Miami he might have actually gotten 5 or 6 rings, but he wanted Spo gone and control of the roster

  9. Duncan looked real comfortable putting the ball on the floor and has really improved his defense. If it wasn't for his previous shooting slump, he'd be looking like a steal on any team even with that massive contract.

  10. Actually IT'S because OF Pat Riley. Then it is Spoe AND then Jimmy AND Bam!!! 2nd, the HEAT are a VERY deep TEAM. No MATTER the COACH no MATTER the SCHEME or PHILOSOPHY you DON'T play 10 OR 11 DEEP in a PLAYOFF run UNLESS you TRUST the TALENT, SKILL, WILL and MENTALITY of you PLAYERS…PERIOD!!!

  11. Ty Lue and Spo are the best coaches in the NBA…. and Lebron's apologists kept on whining and givung Lebron excuse that he didn't have the best coaches…

  12. Coaching is the biggest problem, and I don't necessarily put it all on Joe, i partially blame stevens cause i think he told Joe behind closed doors they need more offense because in the finals it was either JT or JB and no one else that's why they both had so many TO. From day one, they lost their identity from last year, and they lost that chip to play defense. Smart, White, Brogden, and Horford are all known for defense, but they haven't played a lick of defense all year. Everyone started wanting to be offense super stars. Smart and white player harder on offense than defense. They can't stop Gabe, Strus, or Martin. Al plays drop coverage and gets roasted constantly, then on offense, he doesn't shoot anything outside of a three-pointer. JT and JB don't run any plays. It's all about driving and kicking to shooters who can't hit shots. It's why their record is so staggering when they shoot less than 40% from three. Miami is basically saying we will let JB go 1-on-1, and we will double JT and dare the other guys to beat us. In big moments, they know JT is the playmaker, so they trap him, and he makes the pass, but no shots are falling. Everyone is like Tatum, not shooting in the 4th well its hard to shoot when you're doubled or triple teamed. They are almost daring Williams or horford to get aggressive. Cause when celtics run, pick and roll they leave the big wide open in the middle of the floor and just make sure the ball comes out of JT hands. Spo is the main reason the heat is 3-0. His coaching has been phenomenal, and everyone on the heat knows their role and what their identity is. Boston has terrible coaching, and their players outside of JT and JB know their role. Everyone on the team wants to be. Superstar, and it's why the chemistry is off.

  13. As a Heat fan it’s nice to see Spoelstra finally getting some flowers. Silently it seems like everyone has come to a consensus he’s one of the best coaches of all time but nobody is campaigning for him in the media. The fact Spoelstra doesn’t have a CoTY is criminal and shows how much of a popularity contest the award is.

  14. Hey, JJ, did you ever have a chance to go to the Heat? After the 76ers, probably you should have gone there with Jimmy, probably in 2020 would be different.

  15. I actually think this Heat Culture comes mainly from the relationship between Pat Riley and Spo. Having your front office and coach on the same side makes for opportunities to build up that mentality.

  16. It's crazy that he had his first ever coaching job for a local youth club in Germany, and then was offered a position with Miami at age 24

  17. JJ said it right. Coach Spo knows how to coach. He’s clearly the best. It’s nice to see Miami play as a team and have their role players shine like ⭐️

  18. Finally someone said it. Spo the best coach in all of basketball. If he had the most talent, his franchise would be a dynasty.
