Three bad years… one year as the worst player in the NBA. A second where he continued being the worst but got really hot at the end of the year into the playoffs. And then a third year where he played worse than the second year but only marginally better than the first.
The frustrating part with Poole is that he is allowed to develop and make mistakes but players that I perceive as higher ceilings and better potential (Kuminga/Wiseman) get no run. I’d honestly have rather watch wiseman blow it all year and give him a shot than watch Poole dribble out of bounds for a year.
If you like Pooles game that’s cool, but just recognize he isn’t a winning player…

I just think we need to wait & see what happens I love Jp & without him we do not win it all last year but with me living out here in the Bay Sf it’s not just are fans talking about him it’s the people that matter & have a say so on the team also reporters etc. like it or not sometimes where there’s smoke there’s fire & his stock is currently down @ the moment:(

His defense was as bad as I’ve ever seen this year and in playoffs. I have no idea why he stands flat footed with his belly out and arm in the air guarding lebron. He had 4 fouls in like 10 minutes. Offense can come and go but his defense is so damn bad that I feel that we have to move on from him if possible. We are seeing with heat that having no bad defenders help a lot

Whats with these Poole posts every single day?
His PR really firing all cylinders, makes you think some agenda is going on
Haxxelerator
his 1st, and 2nd years weren’t stellar as well.
fwill_
He had one okay year.
This year was more the norm than last
withurwife
You’re not allowed to have a bad year and not try on defense when you get paid $140M. You can get away with that at $5-10M a year, but not with his new contract.
jrmberkeley95
He was always sort of bad. I liked to jokingly, rhetorically ask if he was actually good or just the luckiest player alive during the championship run last year. He would chuck up the same ugly shots and do the same out of control drives, he was just lucky enough that the ball was bouncing in. This is the other side of that variance. He likely isn’t this bad, just like he almost certainly isn’t as good as he played during the 22 playoffs. But it’s completely reasonable to want to move off of him when his contract is so bloated and the vibes are this bad.
Danmoh29
not even a bad year. just a bad post season really. while steph was out he and klay kept us in contention
tmoeagles96
He also only had one good year..
Digndagn
Hey, it’s true. Next year on the Spurs he’ll probably be way better.
The_Stickmen
Just one bad year? After a 100m deal? Oh you don’t sat

I’m going to use this angle at my annual review. Will report back.

We legit wouldn’t of made the playoffs without Poole and then imagine how idiotic the post will be 🙄😂

I think there is a lot of truth to this idea, the question is how is the locker room? If everyone is in a good place I’d be down keeping him for at least another year. If not then he has to be moved
jabronijajaja
One bad year may be acceptable for someone who was just injured which poole def isnt
rajivpsf
For that salary not sure we need to wait. I’d let Kerr and FO decide.

In a way this is true but at the same time I saw no growth really. The TOs were very bad and he never learned from them. His game never really slowed down and he never adjusted to the opposing defense. Teams know how to play him now and if he doesn’t learn to adjust he might be out of the league in no time. I’m hoping he does grow within our organization but I don’t think him and Dray can be on the same roster next year. One of them has to go.

Poole had 1 good year and people are worried about this contract
giftedunlimited
Good year or bad year dude does not play defense. Cant rely on that in the playoffs unless your offense is top tier. Man thinks he can pop off heat check 3 points shots yet his 3pt % is in the low 30’s. Just watch this man play defense in the playoffs his man is always scoring while he is on the floor.

My biggest problem with Poole wasn’t his output. It’s the compromised relationship he has with Dray and other Vets. I think Steph is not too happy with him anymore.
If the chemistry and relationships can’t heal and let by gones be by gones by next season then it will still be a problem.
The Nuggets said the main reason they won was because they like and trust each other. They have good chemistry and enjoy each other’s company. This past season the Dubs did not possess this and it was a huge problem especially on the road.

the problem is people see it as one wasted year for steph. they’re not on jp’s timeline but steph’s. one great steph year wasted.

I’m gonna miss Poole. Seems like he doesn’t want to be there and like dray doesn’t really want to make it better so he’ll be gone. Hope we can get something good

No…Poole has had 1 3 good months and a bad career overall… we gotta stop trying but I act like this dude wasn’t just any leaguer when the entire dynasty core was sitting out, it’s one thing to be g league when the core rolling but no Steph no klay no draymond and he still got sent down, yes he’s a 1st round pick, but a late 1 not early not lottery not middle he was a 2nd rd guy who went 1st because we only had 1 pick…
Dude is talented but his game is more Zach Lavinr than Steph curry and the sooner fans realize that the better, front office paid him but not because he up next, it’s to make trades more equitable, Poole contract/talent plus jk rookie contract and a pick allows you to bring in another 150 million in salary (Beal type contract) or trade out have cap and sign a Brooke Lopez blah blah blah it’s a business and JP honestly isn’t good for the business of winning, let him go be Gilbert arenas some where else I’d rather chase titles for the rest of this cores remaining years
Acceptable-Project42
You mean one bad knocked out? LOL

One bad year on offense…his defense….well we all know
iamhoratiocrunch
One bad year, one good year. Recency bias is naturally going to focus on the bad year, since it was this year.
Considering how little he contributed in a series that they absolutely should have won, I’d say it’s time to at least look at options if he doesn’t trend up as this next season progresses.

Yeah, why would a rational fan be worried about a 23 year old alarmingly regressing in both the regular and postseason after being signed to a substantial extension?!

Poole’s biggest problem is his attitude.
