[Global Scouting] Anthony Black analysis thread
Anthony Black is one of the best two-way playmakers in the draft. Black is a high level playmaker out of Arkansas. His feel for the game is so high combined with his positional size at 6’7”. Let’s dive into why he’s a projected top ten pick.

I still maintain that Black could be a very good player, but not for the Wizards so long as we’re committed to this “build from the middle” strategy instead of a rebuild. His lack of shooting ability means that he won’t see the floor and get consistent minutes during crucial years of his development. He needs a few years on a bad team where he can make mistakes and work on his shot. As it stands, I like his combination of height, passing, defense, and rim pressure, but a guard who can’t shoot does not stand a chance in the NBA unless they have an elite handle and athleticism like Ben Simmons (before his mental breakdown). I don’t think Anthony Black has that.
