BREAKING Philadelphia 76ers News: Doc Rivers is OUT as Sixers head coach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Rivers made the second round of the NBA playoffs in each of his three seasons with the Sixers, but did not make an Eastern Conference Finals appearance. The search for Joel Embiid’s next head coach will feature names like Mike Budenholzer, Monty Williams, Sam Cassell, Nick Nurse and Frank Vogel along with Mike D’Antoni. Sixers GM Daryl Morey will have a tough choice to make as the Sixers look to get back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2001. Not interested in senior citizen Dame and his bizarrely high contract.
A lot of thoughts on this: this loss was not on Doc; he probably shouldn’t have been hired in the first place bc it wasn’t a great fit but was much better than Brett Brown, Joel and Harden may be a great #1 and #2 but both have proven to NOT be a Championship #1 & #2; do not cater to Harden with D’Antoni bc Harden is not a champ player/passes the blame; don’t go in on Dame, he’s just as injury prone as Joel now. Time to sell high and rebuild. The process he its chance, but you can see the difference in determination and champ grit btwn an Embid and a player like Tatum.
I’m giving Sam cassell burn. Sixers need they own coach somebody under the radar who is respected in this league. Cassell fits that mold. Be 4real Monty Williams nick nurse, and Milwaukee old coach is not going to take us to the promise land. We have to find our own coach like the eagles did with dougie p and siranni and Phillies with Charlie manuel I could be wrong but I think I’m right lol 🤷🏽♂️

Docs firing is not just about this loss. As l.l.a-dubs9804 pointed out, Doc was the wrong coach for this team or any team ready to contend. His "strategy" is old and he seems incapable of adjusting to changes. On top of that look at the young talent we lost during is tenure and his unwillingness to accept responsibility. Get the NBA's version of Sirianni who can actually relate to players and Loves Philadelphia!

Nick Nurse won a chip because of injuries to opposing teams.
Embiid is a stat padder & always has been. He doesn't know how to win. Sixers need a disciplined defensive coach & one that gets everyone involved. STOP trying to go through Embiid (they'll never win) & get 2 more scorers.
James Hardin needs to go. He is old, fat, and lazy and has a bad attitude.
