Chev, I really think they're just saying that because Steve Nash is Canadian, they're a Canadian team, and he is looked upon as an icon up here so they can't just blatantly come out and say he was just average because the media will take that and run with it. The Raptors have to come out and say they were impressed with him just to save any kind of embarrassment. I think that's all it is. I really don't think they're seriously considering Steve Nash as a replacement to Nick nurse.
Masai is TOO SLOW on everything. He took three years to trade for a decent center when it was over practically. Looking far and wide when so many teams are in need of a coach. Wasting out future assets, wasting time! I don’t think the arrogant guy really knows what he is doing. He thinks OG and PASCAL are worth more than what the entire league think they are worth. Bungling opportunities to improve the team. After this season no one is worth a damn.
I never was in favor of Sergio as I think he's old and super overrated by Raptors fans and I don't care who tries to defend him to me, you're not changing my mind on him. I was a Becky Hammond and Stacks hiring guy, but I don't mind Nash, we got a much better organization than the Nets, I really don't care about what happened there. I think Nash could be great for us to be honest, let's be open to it. I know people felt this way about Kidd before he went to Milwaukee because of what he did in Brooklyn, but Kidd turned out to be a decent coach in Milwaukee. A lot of this news doesn't mean anything as Ujiri is clearly taking his time, so we'll have to wait to see who he hires.

They might me. I think there are considering hiring a Canadian legion, that can create a wining culture from basically ground up.
Plus they are looking for a new coach for the Canadian National Team.

Your insight regarding the Raptors' requirement for a coach to address the damage to the team cohesiveness, rather than prioritizing reaching the finals is bang on. I haven't encountered anyone besides myself who has viewed the situation from this particular perspective. I wholeheartedly agree with you.
All you have to do is watch the games, and look into the eyes of the bench players from Flynn to Koloko and you can see that there are first and 2nd class players on the team. The bench players checked out. In fact, I believe players like Champagnie requested to be waived. Just look how happy they seem to be on other squads even while sitting on the bench. The Raptors stopped being a team after 21/22 first road defeat. They came back from summer break selfish, and the coach encouraged it.
The team needs a coach that will preach fundamentals. It's time to get back to basics. Box out, grab rebounds, pass to the open man, help the defeated defender, and take more high percentage shots. All players starters and bench must get a chance to touch the ball, EVERY freaking game, even if they are not a major part of the offense. If not, try to work them into the offense on a regular basis to keep them present (and not wondering when they will play).
The players (who buy in) need to be treated like men, and not little boys, punished for the slightest of transgressions.
I dont understand why Nick Nurse couldn't do that. My 12 year old daughter could coach that.

Can we hire Sergio and call it a day already!! Steve Nash could have those consultant job he had in GSW. Teach the guys to shoot. Mentor Dalono on PG what not but not a head coach job! I bet its going to be a name that hasn’t been mentioned. I think Monty will be great for the culture.

Idk what Im missing Steve been a beast since a kid, sees the court, preaches hard work all about getting others involved. This man got an mvp when shaq and kobe were in their primes. He definitely has high basketball iq. He proffessional and talks to the refs all game.
I think KD and Kyrie wanting to coach themselves didnt help his look but if any team gonna give him a chance it should be Toronto.

He's shouldn't be a main head coach but a 6'7 Steve Nash or a MIP Malachi Flynn doesn't sound bad. 🤷♂

I was high on Steve Nash when he took the job to coach nets but than I saw how it went with kyrie and kd just because he’s a hooper doesn’t mean he can coach.
They not that serious about Nash, it’s just a formality , give the fans something to talk

Ok will play devils advocate. Apparently he was all about team ball and developing the depth and the nets stars and front office didn’t allow him to do this. If this is true and it’s a big if, that’s what the team needs. He came to the meeting very prepared with great ideas (apparently). Having said that I have no idea what to make of this tbh and my first instinct is no.
Sergio’s wifey doesn’t want to live in North America apparently. They need to win her over 😆
