Charles Barkley has NO idea how good Vassell/Sochan are right now. Keldon Johnson is going to take a secondary role to Vassell/Wemby at times and Jones/Collins/Champaigne/Mamu are really good role players. Team absolutely COULD be a playoff team next year. Really comes down to health and how many games everyone plays and the potential of us adding someone else through trade or free agency.

Exactly. Surely Barkley is right, Wemby has a lot to learn — but VW knows that! All he's expressing is that he is coming to conquer. Ultimately, eventually, he will dominate, and on that count, Victor is speaking from well-founded confidence.

Are the Spurs competing for a championship in the next 2-3 years? No, probably not. Most fans know this. It’s gonna take some time.
But God forbid this 19 year old kid is coming into the league with big dreams of being a champion one day!

I used to think Charles never won a ring bc Jordan and Dream wouldn’t let him, but now I wonder if, deep down, he never had that dog in him to begin with.
I'm still not sold on Wembayama. I think he's gonna be injury prone for the duration of his career. That doesn't mean he won't be a great player but it wouldn't surprise me to see him miss big chunks of multiple seasons if not a couple of whole seasons where he is out due to a foot or leg injury.
Just like Kawhi, there is only so much a team's doctors can do in certain cases. I'm calling it now, Pop will start the load management with this kid early and we'll be lucky to see him play 65 games a year max.
