via Rafael Barlowe who took over for Chad Ford

I think the Hawks picks are up for trade, plus taking on some bad contracts, and we’d probably need to add a serviceable player to the deal if we’re looking at a top 10 draft pick

I wonder what we would need to give up to get that 3rd from Portland.

Having Scoot and Wemby would have me calling the doctor because it’s going way past four hours.

Yeah Ty! Finally back on Reddit! Thanks for the Report!

I need to get on Twitter though, solely Spurs Twitter.

While this is awesome…teams will ask for a player too. I hope they Spurs stick to their guns and keep they depth they are building. Keldon and Devin really seem to enjoy this team and know what’s building.

It might not be the sexiest pick but Orlando’s #11 pick might be within reach. What do they need that the Spurs can give them?

    Makes sense.

Next year’s draft is supposedly underwhelming with deep talent and the Spurs have more than enough picks from now till the end of this decade to throw around and load up on potential prospects they think have high upside. This draft has a lot of high-upside guys outside the top four, but they’ll also need lots of time to potentially reach that level.

Which is fine now that they have Wemby. The Spurs can shift the team’s overall timeline to his, meaning it would make sense to bring in more young prospects that can grow with him, especially if they can turn into an all-star-level player.

I just wonder what the cost would be to move back into the lottery.

Will it cost a multiple of picks plus a currently established player on the Spurs? Or just future picks on their own?

It’s so hard to know what the other teams in that 5 to 12 draft range think of the core players on the Spurs. Do they value them highly or do they not. And who is to know if throwing in an established player would be a cost too steep for the Spurs in general.

Part of me wonders if we will be seeing a more aggressive front office going forward in terms of acquiring high-ceiling prospects now that we Wemby. Say trading future picks for current picks. Trading solid established players for high-upside ones. Etc.

Not saying this will happen, but it is interesting to think about.

I know it’s crazy and the blazers wouldn’t do it or us for that matter but I’d like us to put together a package of some of our best players like Johnson, Collins, or vassell and picks for sharpe, the number 3 pick, and nurcic to sweeten the deal as they want out of that contract.

Amen, sharpe, sochan, and wemby would be an insane core.

    For each PG prospect:

Amen Thompson: If he falls to Detroit-DET 2023 for Spurs 2024 and Keldon Johnson. Only if Spurs truly believe in Amen.

Anthony Black: Mavs 10th and Bertans for Toronto 2024 and Spurs 2023 2nd rd pick. McDermott as well maybe.

Cason Wallace or Bufkin: Atlanta 15th to Spurs for Charlotte 2024 pick and we take on Clint Capella contract.
