Masai Ujiri Has A MAJOR Decision To Make For The Toronto Raptors

Steve Nash has surprisingly become one of the potential leading candidates for the Toronto Raptors head coaching position after reportedly “impressing” Masai Ujiri’s front office in his recent interview for the vacant spot.

The search to replace Nick Nurse has been ongoing for quite some time now and it seems to be starting to frustrate fans as other teams like the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks seem to be close to wrapping up their search for a new head coach despite having started weeks after the Raptors search began.

The Raptors are casting a wide net and interviewing as many candidates as possible but at what point is the net too wide? Was Steve Nash too far? Was JJ Redick too far? Masai Ujiri has to make a decision, and the time to do it is imminent.

  1. anyone can diagram a few set pieces …..the coach has to be psychologist ,motivator ,strategist

  2. We just need a coach that is elite at developing talent and doesn't mind having a few losing seasons on their record.

  3. Masai is looking for a coach that will tell him that the raptors can win a championship with Siakam and FVV being the featured players

  4. so many raptors fans are so afraid of this team becoming irrelevant in the nba . this team is already irrelevant in the nba

  5. One thing to consider. Coaches are not interested in the raptors head coaching job as the team does not have a direction

  6. I’d Say That The Raptors Will Find Their New Coach In The Next 2 Weeks or they will wait at least 1 Week From The Draft Before We Know Who They Decide

  7. My personal belief is that the raptors have likely missed out on multiple beneficial deals since the championship due to greed and excessive patience.

Market value of players changes rapidly following major transactions by other teams. Leverage can be lost or acquired depending on player availability. It feels like the passivity of the FO since the championship has cost us – it’s even become a joke around the fan base that major speculation will lead to nothing and we’ll simply run it back as we always have.

Masai’s tune seemed different than normal this presser – so hopefully this will change and we will see tangible changes to the culture and product on the court

  8. My thinking is Steve Nash is being considered as an executive assistant to Masai and not as a head coach. He is still a Senior Advisor to the Canadian National Basketball program.

  9. At this point the most optimistic explanation is one espoused on another channel that the Raptors are just looking to gather some data from people not within the organization. They've already had a half a dozen coaches named who would have been anywhere from good to great.

  10. I think Nash could be good for player development. So he'd be good if we end up trading / losing veterans like pascal or FVV and getting younger via 3rd or 7th pick, and of course with Scottie and koloko

  11. Steve Nash got screwed by the nets situation, its hard to imagine anyone succeding there. However I would prefer Nash to be the assistant coach and to be our head coach to have more experience than Nash.

  12. I am no NN fan, but the fact that we fired our HC with no replacement on deck says a lot about Masai and Bobby.
