Right Up With The Rest of Them

I remember just a few years ago that people diminished Steph, reduced his accomplishments to shooting or to a short run in which he did little else but assist KD.

Now, regardless of future accomplishments, he is up there with the rest of them. His legacy, his demeanor, and the joy we had watching him, is something that will remain until we’re gone.

Thank God for that. We all get too caught up on the ups and downs of life and the seasons of the most important of all the unimportant things in the world, sports. We should be grateful for all there is and has been. Soon, as Lebron, Steph might retire. So let us not worry and curse fate with what was left at the table, because everything that was wrought is precious and lasting in our short lived hearts.

& this is coming from Magic a guy who has just recently been passed up by the 3 🐐 Steph Curry as the greatest point guard in all of nba history simply incredible #30

Interesting take. Steph is one of a very small number of people who have reshaped how the game is played, and will for generations. That fact doesn’t diminish the greatness of anybody on this list.

As I understand it, neither LeBron nor Kobe changed the game. LeBron is one of the best to ever play, but he didn’t reshape the game. And Kobe, another all time great, modeled his game on MJ, so wasn’t pushing any boundaries that I know of.

(I’m open to being wrong about this)

So humor to not include himself

No, this is correct. It’s just not popular. Cult of personality rules in the NBA.

I don’t recall any of the mentioned names pushing the NBA to change the rules. Guess who did? Steph Curry.

If you are explaining to someone the 30 second history of basketball I think Kareem, Larry/Magic, Mike, Lebron and Curry are in there.

Do you include Kobe/Shaq/Joker? What did they change about basketball other than being really really really damn good?
