Some of the topics they talked about (which are highly debatable IMO)
-Building from the middle is the best way to be a contender going forward
-Masai’s usual MO would be to turn a Siakam type into a Dame type of star, not by trading one for future pieces
-The guard play needs to be improved
-Re-signing your free agents is a better path than signing and trading them
-Great teams aren’t built through the draft, that’s fallacy
-Both of the co-hosts are on the bring everyone back and try to compete ledger

Might as well be: why the Raptors are unlikely to contend any time soon

I still think we “try and compete” but I don’t think we bring EVERYONE back. It could be a “1 step back to take 2 steps forward” type thing.
I said in a previous post, Masai will ALWAYS say “we play to win, we are here to win, sports is about winning”, regardless of what roster is on the floor…but that doesn’t mean we go all out for contention every offseason.
Going to be an exciting off season for sure

Simple: we don’t own our pick.

Wack – no one wants to watch the same garbage squad run it back

Great teams aren’t built through the draft? They must be new to NBA basketball. How else could they not be aware that the dynasties such as the Duncan Spurs, Warriors, before that, the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz were all built through the draft.

Pathetic.

The guest used Phoenix as an example who built a team and then had the flexibility to move for a superstar in Durant.
But they already literally had a first team all nba talent in Booker. So yeah not exactly the best example.

We will never tear down everything and rebuild simply because we have a large market, and are the only Canadian NBA team.
It’s a business at the end of the day. It took a long time to build this franchise into what it is today. The organization is never going to tank and reverse all the progress it’s made (in terms of growth and revenue).
Doesn’t mean there won’t be major changes. But there won’t be a complete rebuild. Might as well stop talking about it.

Asad is the guy on twitter who was calling people dumb for wanting to tank in Tampa. Of course he doesn’t want a rebuild. Dude is delusional
