  1. Lauri and Olynyk both play PF. Not a big need for the Jazz. Between Sexton and Dunn, the Jazz at least have a good backup PG. Draft needs – SF, backup C, PG.

  2. I didn’t have a chance to follow up on the discussion in today's live chat about minor league basketball so here goes: I wasn’t trolling. The G league was not created for guys coming out of high school- you had to be 20 years old.

As for now with guys coming out of high school, I was just thinking about how they go to the Ignite team instead of being scattered throughout the G League. Previously, I had read what Wikipedia summarized here, "The prospects would play alongside veteran players on a select team that would take part in training and 10 to 12 exhibition games against other G League teams, foreign national teams, and NBA academies." This gave me the impression that players didnt join a normal G League team. I didn’t realize that they now play a full G League schedule as full G League members.

Now that I know that the Ignite are a normal G League team, I wonder why there isn't at least one more team like them and why it's not a more often taken path of top high school prospects.

If people are concerned about a guy not having enough time with one year of college ball, then I suppose they could force them to play 2 or more years. But if they do that, then maybe there should be more opportunities for them to play in the G League or in another North American pro league.
