This is going to be remembered like that final drive Brady had against kc to force ot and eventually win, almost a miracle, but it was really just perfect execution.
My fucking word.

The fact that smarts shot didn’t go in, in the first place was a miracle for Miami so they weren’t gonna get 2

ALL HAIL THE GREAT WHITE BUFFALO 🐃 🙌

Damn the way he goes from inbounding the ball to the rebound is clinical

I can’t believe it. As much as I would have hated, I would have been fine with the loss.
This is my first year following basketball, and I’m actually emotional from this. Damn, I love this team.

Something that ppl will over look is tatum crashing the other side of the board. no matter what side it bounced Celtics were hustling for a 2nd chance

Great call from Van Gundy. He says some stupid things sometimes, but he was right on the money there. Strus let White get free off the inbound, and it cost them the game.

Smart could’ve kicked to white from the 3 and I’m sure he would’ve made it also

I like how TNT still showed MIA won the series despite the announcers say they were going for review

This will forever be slept on but that is an insanely good shot by Smart given how rushed and covered he was, barely in and out. Great play by the Buffalo tho.

Man I wish this incredible season-eclipsing highlight wasn’t bogged down by announcers who were hell bent on calmly announcing a Heat victory.
Anyone have the local radio call? I want to hear Cornbread say some silly shit

i’m in awe at how he just sprinted from inbounding for the tip in without a single body in front of him..all time hustle play

Honestly, the Heat defense was good on that play. Spo said they wanted to make sure Tatum couldn’t beat them, so they doubled Tatum and he couldn’t even get the ball at midcourt for a dribble to step into a 3. Bam was draped over Brown. Smart had to throw up a quick three in traffic that isn’t the shot you’d want your season to depend on but somehow almost went in anyway.
During the shot, Martin boxed out Horford and Bam picked up Brown, but the “don’t let Tatum beat us” defense meant that Strus and Butler were well behind the play. Strus couldn’t close in on White, who made a well timed run at the basket. The ball just happened to bounce for a nice short and soft rebound directly to White (although Tatum would’ve been there if it bounced soft on the other side). Even with that perfect rebound bounce, it still came down to 0.1 seconds left.
If Miami had it to do all over again, they’d do it exactly the same. White just rolled the nat 20 on the death save.

And I know there are tons of Smart haters on here, but that was a great shot by Marcus Smart. Quick shot that just rattled out; so good look by him.

Anybody else notice the assistant coaches going right to the video screen to look at it and seeing it before anyone else that it was for sure good and going nuts? I fucking live that.
lefebrave
i have been watching this video again and again i don’t know for how many minutes. I think i will spend every second of my spare time watching this until the next game. Or watching this, going into the Miami sub just to read comments shitting on Butler and the refs after a game in which Jimmy was on the line for the entire 4th quarter, coming back and watch this again. Yeah, that is a better plan.

Looks like the play was supposed to go to White in the corner but Smart decided to send it. Luckily White is a basketball genius and crashed the glass.
Dunkaholic9
I’m watching this play on repeat. White perfectly executes every aspect of it. He goes through his reads and finds Marcus, the only one with a chance to shoot. Then he prepares for an outlet at the three point line (and he’s open). When Marcus shoots he immediately crashes and puts it back in—all in three seconds. It’s not a fadeaway at the buzzer, but he nails the fundamentals like no other play I’ve ever seen. This game exemplified the Celtics I’ve become accustomed to watching all season long. Sometimes I get annoyed when Tatum gets the focus, because it’s never been about just Tatum. Miami might ride or die on Butler, but the Celtics win and lose as a team (with a few exceptions). If someone is struggling, another steps up.
