Chicago Bulls Believe Lonzo Ball Will NEVER Play Again

Lonzo Ball’s career has been characterized by a series of injuries that have forced him to miss significant playing time. The recent rare cartilage transplant procedure he underwent, coupled with the lack of NBA players successfully returning from such surgery, adds further uncertainty to his basketball future. The skepticism expressed by the Chicago Bulls organization regarding his potential comeback raises questions about Ball’s ability to overcome these obstacles. As the NBA community eagerly awaits updates on his progress, it remains to be seen if Ball can overcome these challenges and resume his promising career. s/a — https://basketnews.com/news-190039-chicago-bulls-reportedly-believe-lonzo-ball-will-not-play-ever-again.html

  1. Tyreke Evans was probably the closest to cartilage transplant case. He had osteochondral autograft transfer system procedure.
He had his best career year (excluding his ROY season) 2 years later. Tyreke was able to come back 11 months after his procedure. He had 3 previous knee surgeries before this.
He had battle other demons after that though so long term effect, we never really know.

  2. I think he’ll be ok. Not fully the same but decent at best that can help the bulls or whoever he plays with have a winning record

  3. The biggest disaster was rushing Lonzo Ball into surgery when he already had a bone bruise. How does a small meniscus tear surgery turn into a career ending injury when the doctor had a timeline of a 6 weeks recovery unless the surgery was botched. Having the surgery on top of a bone bruise resulted in nerve damage. That is the biggest disaster to date and the big elephant in the room that no one is talking about. This is not a Brandon Roy situation. This is a bad surgery. Both Brandon Roy's knees deteriorate from bones rubbing together and it was diagnosed as such. For Lonzo, doctors said his knee was structurally sound. So how do you go from this to end of career?
