Afa elite NBA players, the Blazers should select based off of rebounding and free-throws attempted. Rebounds and rim protection are the primary deficiencies with this team, improvements in those metrics will solve the defense issues.
I think the blazers should try everything they can to keep the 3rd pick AND Dame. Let him hand down the torch when they're ready.

I don’t think 3rd & ant alone is even worth Mikal but he’d be the only one I would be semi okay with trading it, I think they want to do Nurk & 3rd for Mikal & maybe another 1st & try to flip Ant for a starting Center or Add Ant if they can give Claxton but if the route isn’t there I could easily see Dame wanting to play in either of the New York teams if we can’t get his guys but they both have decent trade returns for him

If Portland does not trade the 3rd pick for another star player.. best for Portland to trade Dame for younger prospects and draft picks. No point for Portland and Dame to waste each other's time. I also don't believe anyone but Wambayamba (sp?) Is a generational player in this year's draft.
Best player that is realistically available is Pascal. I do think they will be a good due to watch.. possibly the best roster Portland has seen in a long time. Pascal is good as a ball handler, finishes well within the rim, his midrange and spin moves are money, high energy, can play center against smaller line up, great on fast breaks, average 3pt shot(if he somehow able to get closer to above average Pascal will be a problem around the league), decent play maker, decent passer, handles double team well, defense slightly dropped off but still good, best of all he knows how to play as the second guy, Pascal's biggest down side is his free throw shooting. Dame and Pascal pairing is 2nd round exit at best unless they find another borderline all star and some vets to pair up with Dame and Pascal and their young guys improve another notch.. then I can see WCF

you gotta look at it this way, the raptors are not gonna do any trades till they hire a head coach first to get his input, so all these rumors you been hearing is likely just made up for views.
Do i think portland will try to trade for siakam or og? its likely as one or both may be available after the raptors hire a new coach and get his input on personel. but essentially things moving slow cuz the raptors have not hired a head coach yet. but that may not be a bad thing because the rumor mills says dallas wont help in a sign and trade for kyrie, and lakers want to get rid of deangelo russel so they will need a new point guard, and so they may try to get the best option of free agent point guard in fred vanvleet in a sign and trade. that means mo bamba is filler as part of the package coming back because they really didnt play him. so if there is a trade that comes between portland and raptors it may end up being like an og anunoby, mo bamba and otto porter jr package which fits nicely because the blazers need a back up center just because things moved slow cuz raptors had not hired a head coach yet. who knows if raptors get mo bamba maybe even jakob poeltl will be coming in a package to portland with og.
i wouldnt read too much into the rumor mill, as alot of it is click bait cuz its slow part of season, and beat reporters have to make a living so they put out alot of stuff out there that is just speculation really at this point. at least in terms of raptors cuz they gotta hire a head coach first.
fred vanvleet is the wild card on the raptors as he is a unrestricted free agent and if leaves through free agency or through sign and trade, then they cant really run it back so its likely to lead to more changes in roster.
gary trent jr is also an unrestricted free agent. but with alot of teams not having cap space, if they want to go to a play off team or contender they will have to ask for a sign and trade, so it may bring in extra players that the blazers may be interested in , in a package to get them a solid bench. because no one player makes the blazers a contender, they will need 2 solid bench pieces as their bench was not productive last year. so waiting is not the worst thing, it could open up other possibilities.
Lol. Blown away for a 3pick that hasn't done anything in the NBA. I'm a little tired of everyone exaggerating the impact of these rookies.
The singular question is whether we CAN be immediate contenders with Dame or must WAIT to mature without Dame. It would be VERY difficult to contend this year
