NO traded AD to the lakers, teams don't make trades based on what team the player is going to but how it changes THEIR team. If your worried about that you probably have a poorly run franchise. Plus spurs can't draft and keep all those picks its only a 15 man roster, the reason you stack picks is to get really good players. I wouldn't trade for scoot I would use those picks to get a veteran all star level PG and/or C.

Realistically they don't want Scoot. All reports are that they are interesting in Amen Thompson and he's the PG they want. Which is easier to trade for because Detroit at 5 would trade their picks for other picks, rather than Portland that is looking to get a star

I'm thinking we eat the salaries of Hayward or Rozier (or both if that gets the deal done!), the spurs 2024, 2027 and 2029 unprotected picks, the Toronto Pick, the Charlotte pick, and 5 second rounders. Thats 10 picks AND we are earing their biggest salaries ( to eat both, we would have to send them McDermott or Graham, but worth it!) We would still keep the Atlanta picks and the Boston swap.
They might do the trade because Portland and suns are in win now mode and short sighted and who knows they might do it because they know we won’t be competing in the short term.

Bottom line. Dame said he will NOT play in Portland if they draft a rookie. He wants to trade the pick to Phoenix to get Ayton. The Spurs can offer a boat load of first round picks to Phoenix plus the swap and KJ. Phoenix also dumps CP3 for another couple of first round picks. Phoenix gets a complete rebuild, Dame gets his experienced center, the Spurs get the 3rd pick. Everyone wins. That's the bottom line in business. Everyone comes out a winner and is happy. Anything can happen. If needed, bring in a 4th team.

I agree that the Scoot thing is a crazy wet dream and it would require wayyy too much draft capital to actually happen but let us then focus on a guy who I believe is just as a special passer/PG, which is what the Spurs need, and is a much better possibility given where certain Eastern conference teams are drafting. I'm a HUGE fan of Anthony Black. He isn't the scorer that Scoot is but he is a true PG with crazy passing skills. And he is 5 inches taller than Scoot. Just saying. Jamal Murray doesnt get pushed around like little skinny guards do. In any other draft he may go much higher but in this draft he is projected in the bottom part of the top ten where teams like Orlando, Indiana and Washington pick. These 3 teams are not that far away from the playoffs and I think all 3 ownership is desperate for playoff participation. This is the guy I think the Spurs should go after. It would take less draft capital and assets to get done.
Teams that win nowadays have players who score at all positions. You don't waste a pick on players like Blake Wesley or Anthony Black if they can't shoot unless you wanna lose. Spurs already have Sochan, Bassey, Tre Jones & the afforementioned Wesley that have no jumpshot. That's why they went 22-60. Bring in shooters. I still hate the fact the Spurs didn't give Klay Thompson a second workout. Spurs fans, would you have liked Klay on this team along with Kawhi if they would have made a few trades to draft them both?
