The Nets have some draft decisions to make coming up, whether it be standing pat, trading up, or packaging picks for another player. The Locked on Nets guys take a look at three players falling into different ranges of this year’s draft. The first is Keyonte George who is expected to go higher than the Nets actually pick. Could Brooklyn look to trade up for this combo guard from Baylor and would this represent the right kind of move for the team?
They also look at Leonard Miller from G-League Unite and whether his length and athleticism would translate early for Brooklyn. Could he be just the right guy to fall into the Nets’ 21st pick?
And then there is Noah Clowney from Alabama who is expected to go in the mid-20s. Is this the kind of big who would solve some of the Nets’ issues on the interior?

Brooklyn 21st and 22nd picks are important selections but could Brooklyn move up to a higher pick? Potentially the Mavs 10th pick? It's possible….
Brooklyn needs to get another center behind Nic Claxton. Andre Drummond or Mason plumlee would make sense from a defending and rebounding strategy.
However given Ben Simmons performs better with a center that can score going after Jufus Nurkic Christian Wood or Jonas Valanciunas who are better scoring centers might be a strategy as well….
There are different options and Brooklyn needs to get bigger as a team so they are more balanced…
This is a super deep draft there are alot of guys I’d be comfortable taking at 21 or 22. Ideally would like to trade one of those picks and get a 24 pick instead
Doug, I watched the cam Thomas episode you did a while back. Job very well done BTW. And I hear you dissecting Cam Thomas a bit when comparing to George.
In reality, what teams in the NBA may actually be interested in Cam Thomas? A short guard who is exposed on defense…
I hear nobody wants Dangello Russell for this exact reason.
Is there any team you think would be willing to take Cam on? if so which teams?
I think it's a consensus of opinion, among Nets fans, that the starting 5 will remain the same, for the Nets next season, as this season. The remaining players, that's under contract, are Simmons, O'Neale, Sharpe, Harris, Thomas, DDJ, Mills, and our two 2-way players, RaiQuan Gray and Dru Smith. I don't expect they'll pick up Edmond Sumner's option in July. This is a team of all veterans. If Harris, Thomas, and Mills could be successfully traded, it would open valuable roster spots for future players. First preference should be given to our young veterans that's put in the work the past two years (DDJ, Sharpe, and Gray) because of their experience they have with the team over any players we newly acquire. We should use all three of our draft picks and be "strategic" about who we select. Remember, RaiQuan Gray was select 59th in 2021, by us, and he's now on a two way contract on the verge of cracking the rotation. Therefore, you never know where that diamond in the rough will appear. There's never many rookies NBA ready. The Nets need to draft the NBA ready prospects as much as possible.
