[Katz]Immanuel Quickley’s offseason could go many ways, but will he take a big leap with Knicks?

Hopefully! I’m anticipating big things from contract-Quick!!

If we extend him it makes it harder to include him any potential trade this upcoming season. I personally dont see a Brunson type of leap from him as his handles and footwork arent the greatest imo.

How does one improve on finishing in the last 3 in the 6th man of the year race?

By winning the 6th man of the year award the following year.

I expect good things from IQ this year.

Despite what we saw in the playoffs, I am still pretty high on IQ. He has an insane work ethic, and proven this season that he can also be a starting caliber player.

Right now his job is to run the bench, and with him, Josh Hart, and iHart, I am still very confident that he will continue to flourish.

He still lacks court vision, dribbles too much and doesn’t have the playmaking skills that a true PG does.

    Still… hopefully he gets better.

Can we please just wait it out for once? Why are we so eager to extend these players early rather than letting the market dictate what his value is. If we didn’t sign RJ last year, I don’t see a world in which a team signs him for more than 20mil this year. We could have easily got him on a discount. And let’s say IQ balls out this year, then anyways we are over the cap and wouldn’t mind giving him a big contract.

The only benefit of signing early is the rare Steph Curry case where he got around 12mil a year and turned into an MVP. But Steph was injury prone early, where as w/ Quick we pretty much know what we have.
