TNT also said this was its most watched NBA Playoffs coverage in five years, with an average of 4.7 million total viewers. Up 14% vs. last year.
Looks like this years’ playoffs are doing very well, on TNT at least. Im very curious as to whether the Finals ratings because of the Nuggets vs Heat will be as bad as people are whining and joking about.

Damn these playoffs are slaying all the ratings. Hopefully finals won’t crash.
No finals game will sniff that number
Clay Travis in shambles
The NBA having great ratings the year before they’re set to negotiate a new TV Deal is a dream for Adam Silver. He prob got the koolaid smile
mostly Boston fans, finals are fucked
I can’t wait for people to complain about the Finals ratings as they watch said Finals

in terms of pre game hype, was this the most hyped one since Cavs warriors game 7 in 2016? there was the nuggets 3-1 comeback against the clippers but the bubble and pandemic muted the excitement for people, I loved the bucks nets series game 7 in 2021 but it didn’t have the same excitment with some injuries. Maybe rockets warriors game 7 fit that bill?
I was told ratings and viewership was down and everyone was worried….of course, everyone being advertisers.
Sounds like a non-issue.
Y’all care about ratings?? I just like basketball
Y’all care about ratings?? I just like basketball
Need a 3rd place trophy series for Celtics and Lakers. Air that on ABC same time as the finals and put Nuggets/Heat on NBA TV or some streaming site that you can pirate.
If Heat-Nuggets gets great ratings all the large market narratives are gonna flop harder than the Sixers and Marcus Smart.
What are the most and second-most watched NBA games on TNT?
Man, i didn’t sleep to watch this game. Not the first time i do it during these playoffs either (i am in europe).
The Jimmy is Michael Jordan’s Son Memes have gotten too mainstream.
I like the Heat’s chances now 😈
As a sports fan, why would I care what the ratings are for the NBA Finals? I want to see the best teams win, not the best media market. I swear some NBA fans have wrestling fan brain (am also a wrestling fan) when it comes to these things, something about feeling insecure about football’s relative dominance. I don’t think one Finals between two “small market teams” (lol at Miami being a “small market”) is going to have a long-term impact on the NBA’s popularity.
Y’all got to see the brilliant play of Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.
Y’all also got to experience the rollercoaster that is the Boston Celtics. From quitting in game 3, to the game 6 ending.
I mean I wanted to watch the Celtics dreams get crushed. Makes sense.
City of Denver is about to be nuts
Finals ratings will be the worst in a decade according to projections
can someone explain to me why everyone seems to care so much about tv ratings?
A record audience that got to watch Jaylen Brown dribble the season off his dick.
It’s so hard not to believe that games are rigged for maximum entertainment and viewership. If the heat had swept the Boston Celtics, it would have probably been a billion dollar loss of potential revenue for the NBA, its partners (the arenas, the broadcasters, the sales of merch). I can’t believe that those determinations go unsullied and without involvement from the wallets. I want to, but I can’t. Source: I work for a soulless mega corp.
And people said the heat are bad for ratings.
Too bad Tatum got hurt in the first play and Boston proceeded to poo-poo the game
I’d also be interested to know what 2 games had more viewers than this if it wasn’t and ECF game?
Not included is the illegal streams which I’m sure was in the millions as well
But I was told the nba was dying
it would be even higher if their website and app weren’t absolute dog shit. Their video on demand just doesn’t work.
What about espn? In my opinion TNT has the superior broadcast but would like to see the difference of rating over the course of the playoffs.
Here in Denver the amount of casual viewers has exploded, even for heat/Celtics. If Denver was seen as a small market previously, the next year or two will shift that. The Nuggets absolutely have a chance to be a national draw
What Denver is missing is a Lebron or Jimmy or Draymond type of player oozing charisma, besides Jokic
Unless you directly work for the league office or ABC/ESPN there is no reason to give a fuck about ratings.
I ate up data to stream not only the game, but the post game show knowing it was the last of the season from this crew. I expect ESPN commentary to be terrible but will still be watching/listening to the actual game but the moment it’s over, I’m likely tuning out.
Being from the UK i always think its mad the number is this low when US is so big we get 11 million viewers over here for absolute trash tv shows like Eastenders on certain events
And they said the NBA is dying 🤣
The Heat vs Nuggets sounds like a snooze fest to me
Come for the game stay for watching Chuck eat crow yet again
Only sports game on memorial day might have helped?
