  1. Steve has one thing going and its the fact that he just thinks its basketball, which sounds very simple but barely anybody in the NBA actually follows this rule.

There is one thing tho.. POP WILL NEVER RETIRE!!!!!!!!!! NEEVERRR!!!!!!!

  2. Longest-Tenured NBA Head Coaches :
    1. Gregg Popovich, Spurs: December 1996
    2. Erik Spoelstra, Heat: April 2008
    3. Steve Kerr, Warriors: May 2014
    4. Michael Malone, Nuggets: June 2015
    5. Taylor Jenkins, Grizzlies: June 2019

  3. This may be out there but I foresee that young light skin coach taking the job in a couple years when pop is done. The super young assistant they let coach that one game this past season when pop was out. Learn a couple more years under pop and the new system and then he steps up. Maybe reaching but we will see 🧐

    Edit: Mitch Johnson 🫱🏼‍🫲🏻

  4. Steve Kerr would be a great choice, but the story doesn’t say when. If Pop coaches one or two more seasons, or more, a lot could happen between now and then. But I like the choice! Becky would be my second choice, only because Kerr has more accomplishments. Still, I’m confident that Becky could take the team to its fullest potential.

  5. I thought Pop should have considered retiring at least 2 years ago. I think even with the rebuild you can't deny the job he's doing with developing the young talent. At some point Pop will retire and you couldn't ask for better with Steve Kerr to fill his shoes. But if not's Kerr, I trust whoever the Spurs decide to elevate into the HC position.

  6. please take him away from my warriors hes just simply a bad coach the only reasson why he has a good image is because steph curry and the championships

  7. I mean, that would be great, but I'd feel bad for Hammon. I really do think she has what it takes to head coach.

  8. I don't think Kerr will always manage GSW. He's loyal no doubt, but I think once Steph is older I can see him enjoying coaching a young Spurs team with Wemby leading. He has ties to us anyways as well, he always is praising Coach Pop. He and Pop go out and get wine together, one could speculate that hypothetically Pop brought up the possibility that Kerr coaches San Antionio once he's done. Pop can promise, to the best he can since he does have some ground to make some decisions within the organization, that Kerr will get the head coach spot once he's done. It would be pure poetry too storyline wise.

  9. Half of the leagues coaches have worked with or under coach pop. Big shoes to fill no doubt. But either way its a job any coach would love to have.

  10. Can Kerr actually coach without Steph curry though? The warriors always struggle when he's off the court.

  11. Imagine that, Steve Kerr leaves GS (a well built playoff team) for a Spurs team that won't see the playoffs anytime in the next 5-6 years at least.
But at least Kerr will actually make smart trades to bring in talented NBA players.

  12. That'll be a development that I will welcome. Personally I think Kerr is a better coach than Pop since Kerr has the Superior philosophy.

Pop strategy is to focus on defense by tiring out the defense with ball movement and ultimately defeating the defense in the 4th quarter which works to gain wins but makes for boring basketball which is why Spurs took national tv hits on entertainment value except for games against rivals and until Kawhi developed. Pop will never pay a player the supermax so bye-bye Kawhi.

As for Kerr, Jordan punched him in his face in practice cuz he didn't shoot an open shot. That taught Kerr a very valuable lesson. I could argue that Kerr's philosophy is predicated on that idea. Instead of tiring out a defense Kerr has instructed his team that if any of them are open, to shoot it, in this manner the defense injures themselves by leaving any player open. This makes for an honest defense which is more entertaining. Statistically speaking it also makes for a higher octane offense which is self evident by Kerr's work. Not to mention that he played for Phil Jackson and Pop, the man has all the tools he needs in his toolbox to be the greatest coach ever. And his product is pretty much like street ball while all these other non-basketball playing coaches ruin the game with their inferior thoughts.

Also Kerr doesn't seem to have a problem managing egos. Pop does not like dark-skin. Not saying he is a racist in any regard (so read to comprehend!) but I am saying he is socially awkward in the degree that he does not know how to deal with dark-skin American players that possess natural talent which carries with it a degree of confidence and ego that Pop will never learn to manage. This is the most likely reason Pop tends to draft light-skin and white players more often than any other team. If Kerr takes over for the Spurs he will get the best available players regardless of their ego and the athleticism on the Spurs will be through the roof.

  13. I like the idea of Steve Kerr coaching the Spurs, but how will they pry him away from the Warriors? I think Kerr might want to stay put to see whether he can win more titles with the Warriors unless he's convinced their dynasty is over—which I'm not.

  14. They better put a statue of Pop at the new training facility. My vote is a statue of him sitting on a bench in the public area giving the thumbs up laughing from the legendary moment he hack a shaq'd on the first possession of the season
