With what cap? We just slinging shit at the wall and hoping it sticks with these brain dead rumors?

  2. jorgelongo2

eh?? first of all, how could that even happen lol

Great move. I knew hiring Nurse would pay off.

One of these things is not like the other.

FVV used to be a good defender but has regressed hard lately. Also extremely inefficient and not exactly a playmaker. Horrible fit with maxey, we don’t need two turnstiles defensively, undersized and neither can playmake

Source is just quoting an article sumarizing FVV talking about the Nurse hiring and saying he wishes him success if they end up working together again and less success if they’re opponents.

FVV shot Toronto out of our playoff series in 2022. Raptors fans wanted him gone through this past season. Makes sense that he and Nurse would be comfortable with each other but there’s too much overlap with Maxey even if we end up with any cap space to sign him.

Makes no sense unless we’re signing and trading involving Harden or Tobi.

And makes no sense unless Maxey is being moved for a wing.

Just seems like a coach bring his old teams big FA to new team rumor.

I really don’t want FVV. Dude balled out that year they won the chip and hasn’t done much since then. I know we’re in win now mode, but I wish the Sixers (and the rest of the league) would give more chances to young guys. We need to look forward to the next generation, not back at guys that USED to be good.

I feel like that’s been a big issue with the Sixers in general the last 4-5 years. Always looking back at guys who were good, not forward at guys who are about to be good. I know it’s a gamble, and we can’t really afford to gamble with Embiid in his prime. But is it not also a gamble to pick up older players who are exiting their prime? I’d rather have someone like Springer or Milton putting up mediocre numbers with time and space to improve, than have a 32 year old putting up mediocre numbers with no hope of improvement.

This is all BS – James harden can only be replaced by like 8 PGs in the association and only one is actually available and he’s a mental patient. Everything else is a downgrade regardless of how you feel about him.

The inevitable lineup of FVV-Maxey-Melton-Tucker-Embiid is gonna hit diff.

The league is trending towards lengthy freaks, naturally you have to counter with 4 midgets and a giant

  12. Hi_There_Face_Here

Raptors are like my favorite dinosaur, fuck it.

  13. thesixersdontexist

why are the articles phrased as if harden already left?

  14. PessimistSixersFan

Good lord no keep this fucker away we’re better off having Maxey take the pg role and Springer or Melton starting, shit even bringing back Shake would be fine

  15. DarthSmoke713

You would have to be on some shit to think these two players are equal

  16. SUICIDE_BOMB_RESCUE

Well then submerge that bitch back down because he definitely ain’t a replacement for Harden

  17. PhatYeeter

Not feasible unless Fred wants to take a discount on the MLE which would make 0 sense given how much he could make elsewhere.

  18. hreterh

Please keep this 39% from the field 30 year old midget chucker the fuck away from our team Morey.

  19. NDPhilly

    FVV is a #3 on a championship caliber team, not a #2

  20. Drawjutsu

Good if true for Sixers. FVV better or can match up versus other PGs of the East: Brunson, Smart, Vincent, Garland. He’s not ball dominant like a Trae Young unless game situation requires him to.

Maxey can play SG when FVV is the floor general. Then PG when FVV is resting. Nurse knows all about “positionless basketball”. Probably won’t use that full-time but for ATOs and other situational set plays, definitely useful for tight games versus just standing around and let a Harden or Joel decide what to do with the ball.

I like FVV but don’t like paying up for an undersized point guard who isn’t a positive defender. If we have Harden Maxey and Melton then we don’t have a huge need for FVV. If we lose harden, FVV isn’t replacing him.

Hold Tobias for a chance to trade for Klay this winter imo, regardless of Harden.
