  1. If we trade back into the first round for a PG … we need to be sure that they will be a franchise PG … I think only Scoot Henderson and possibly Amen Thompson could be a franchise PG … if we do trade back into the first round we will need a top 4 pick for one of those two players. Otherwise sign Tre Jones or a veteran PG for one year and use our plethora of picks to get a franchise PG next year, in a guard heavy draft class

  2. Super agree, there are too many picks ,specially 2nd rounders and late first round picks ,trade em to higher picks.aside from wemby ,(base on our picks ,) there are no player on the draft is any better than Malaki,Blake ,Jeremy ,champagnie,Mamu. Let's trade up for the coming years and trade those other first rnd picks for veteran leadership.

  3. Its a difficult decision but I think It's worth it. You don't want to squander any of Victors years. Start winning ASAP. Hopefully Wemby and Scoot will bond and want to play together for their whole careers. We don't know what the next draft will bring, they could be weak drafts. So just do it!

  4. Spurs need to move up in the draft at least once for the next 3 drafts. Go get who you truly want and build the rest of the core perfectly around Wemby. We shouldn't be drafting more then 2 players in a draft unless a 3rd player is a draft and stash. At some point we will need a few of the roster spots to get established vets if we want to actually go the distance in the playoffs.

  5. The Spurs will trade Keldon Johnson for the Wizards pick more than likely, to draft Anthony Black. KJ is from Virginia and doesnt fit with what the Spurs want to do. They're building a roster similar to the Duncan Era. That requires a BOWEN type or Kawhi type at SF, KJ is a scoring 3 who cant defend.
Also it seems they want thier entire Starting 5 to be lottery picks, Wembi, Sochan, Collins was taken 10th in 2017, Vassel 12, and Anthony Black at PG this Year, he's a shutdown defender that happens to be a terrific PG with SF size. (Bowen) but our PG. Watch some Anthony Black tape. Remember Primo was our Lottery Guard, where do you think thier targeting after WEMBI?

  6. A *plethora

    Jefe, what is a plethora?

    (why? You ask)

Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has no idea what it means to have a plethora.

    😂😂😂 Sorry, couldn't help myself #iykyk

  7. The Spurs must do the trade this offseason. Because new CBA doesn't allow teams to be far below the cap or else they lose the tax sharing money. The Spurs are forced to add more salary for the next season. Maybe trade for short term contracts or veteran PG to help Wembanyama development.

In the case of draft picks, the Spurs can draft all of their abundance of second picks and stash most of them in Europe. They had been doing that during Big 3 era and one of that stash turned out to be a very important piece of dynasty in Tiago Spliter. They can start doing that again now.

  8. Good point. Why I see the Spurs trying to get into Top 5. Outside of Top 5 not worth it. If not in top 5 can go in Top 20 Frenchman Ryan Rupert, or late first round Coulabaly

  9. The Charlotte pick in '24 is basically worthless due to the lottery projection. Charlotte WILL be in the lottery next year, so that pick won't convey. The Bulls' '25 pick is in a similar position. That's a big enough protection, far enough out, that it might not convey. The Raptors '25 pick and the Hawks picks are the ones with value.

Offer the Hawks picks and the swap, the Hornets pick next year, the Bulls picks in '25, and as many second rounders as they want to move up…hopefully to #3 and get Scoot, if they'd do it.

  10. Every draft is a crap shoot. Too many players will leave like Leonard did even if they're great. The only teams that are consistently good are those able and willing to bring in free agents who's worth is proven on the NBA court. The Spurs got lucky with Duncan, that he stayed…..will Wemby stay? Will ANY of them stay?….Murray wanted out….Leonard wanted out…..who else that we don't know about. The whole thing is a giant crap shoot. With that kind of turn over….as many draft picks as possible is the only answer if you want to be a good team consistently over the decades and are going to have to depend on drafted players to make your team good. And let's face it….small market teams are NOT free agent magnets….nor will they ever be under the current market conditions. The Spurs are never going to be able to consistently bring in quality free agents, hence, the draft is their only source of players….they better keep every pick they can grab. So, NO, I'm against making a big bundle of picks to move up in THIS draft. It's not in the best interest of building and maintaining a quality team long term.

  11. I feel like the Spurs should trade for a PG, especially because so many of them have high potential this year. Obviously we have our backup guy in Wesley who will defend and score efficiently over time, but you need that extra guy who can defend bigger guys so Keldon can be maximized. This year's draft is good so I wouldn't mind us trading 2-3 picks to get back in the top 6 picks. We likely won't use every draft pick cause its too much

  12. This was good content, but the title of this video could be misleading. At first glance I thought you were reporting on a trade and not asking if we should trade picks.

  13. This is what I’ve been saying for the past 6 months. Thank you for bringing it to Spurs Fans attention. When you have 13 1st round picks and 32 picks in total until 2029 it’s irresponsible to not trade away as many picks as you can. Either for a 1st round pick in this draft or a proven player. I personally would rather trade for Portlands #3 pick. You don’t have to be good next year, next year will be about improvement, development and trying to make the play-in. We have the draft capital to get it done.

    Portland gets:
    Keldon Johnson
    1st 2024 CHA
    1st 2024 TOR
    1st 2025 CHI
    2nd 2023 SA
    2nd 2023 TOR

    Spurs get:
    1st 2023 POR

You’ll have Scoot and WEMBY in their rookie contract for the next 5 years, meaning you’ll be able to bring in veterans to the team to aid in the development. After this trade you’ll still have 10 1st round picks and 30 picks in total until 2029. That’s relevant information because when it comes time to sign Scoot to his supermax deal, you thank him for his time and you trade him for even more picks. With 10 first round picks you probably already found his replacement or with that cap space you probably already signed someone to replace him. This is just one way the Spurs can go. But the longer you wait, the more players we draft, and the chances of us making a Blockbuster trade slims down. I say it’s better to make the trade now when you have the maximum number of draft capital you’re ever gonna have for the next six years.

  14. I’d be willing to give up the kings ransom of 3-4 firsts and a bunch of seconds to move up right now and get Scoot. You already have you’re franchise player in Wemby now let’s aggressively pursue Scoot who fills a major need, and can be a complimentary #2 to Victor similar to Jokic and Jamal Murray. Scoot could be our Jamal Murray. I’d even be willing to give up Keldon or Vassel for Scoot.

  15. Kind of excited for our 2nd round pick. For sure a 1st round steal will drop to us.

  16. Derrick White trade SAS-BOS:

So far, Spurs turned that deal into Devonte Graham, Blake Wesley, Romeo Langford, four 2nd round picks, and it helped at least a little bit towards landing the Wembanyama pick. To be continued…
